During a speech yesterday the Senior Senator from Massachusetts outlined his vision for a bold Democratic party. In it, he had some difficulty pronouncing the name of rising Democratic star Barack Obama, his colleague just elected in Illinois. He called him "Osama bin...Osama...Obama." Reports that Barbara Boxer chimed in by yelling "Sis Boom Bama," are not apparently true.

Our inclination was to keep running with this joke (Lama, pajama... Sis Boom Bama!) but we were struck that maybe that sly fox Kennedy was hitting on a new Democratic party strategy. For Republicans, mangling pronunciations and being confused about the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden wins you re-election.
