The guardians of our nation's virginal ears over at the FCC may soon be going after one of their own, at least if a bunch of liberal bloggers have their way. (Which is a scary thought.) In a nifty bit of political judo, Atrios is trying to swamp the FCC's indecency patrols with complaints about Rush Limbaugh's program from yesterday. The offending language:
LIMBAUGH: Miss Plastic Surgery. (chuckle) And – I’d – I’d – I – I don’t – I don’t know what the winner – I – and, oh, I didn’t print out both pages, so I don’t know what the – I don’t know what the winner gets. Probably a certificate to go to San Francisco to have an add-a-dick-to-me operation.Ha ha! So... um... well, funny isn't quite the word we're looking for. More like lame.
Anyway, the bureaucrats at the FCC spend most of their time going after Janet Jackson's nipple and Howard Stern. But Atrios hopes to stir them to action with a shower of e-mails complaining that "Limbaugh used the vulgar, sexual term 'dick'." Wait a minute. "Dick" is a vulgar, sexual term?
