Media Firepower Gets an Upgrade
Apparently it's not just Newsweek that boasts remote precision firepower. On his radio show earlier this week, Hugh Hewitt attributed the "the death of sixteen innocent people" to "the media" in general. But is it only innocent anti-American rioters who are susceptible to the media's invisible death-rays? Or can the media also kill certified terrorists? We ask because, obviously, if they can, shouldn't we be turning them loose on Al Qaeda? Granted, CBS and the New York Times probably wouldn't cooperate, but Fox News, the Washington Times, The National Review? Jonah Goldberg may be too old to enlist in the military, but surely he's not too old to deploy a poorly sourced sentence or two.— GREG BEATO
