Michael Steele In Trouble For Not Calling Obama 'Socialist'
It's been a while since we've checked in on the trials of Michael Steele, the African-American who runs the Republican Party with his peculiar blend of comedic verve. They hate him, the other Republicans, because he wants to try new things. (Also because he is anabortionist.) We had thought that maybe he wasn't in the news so much anymore because he had been secretly fired and exiled back to Prince George's County, Maryland, while that South Carolina confederate colonel "Kat-On" assumed his rightful throne. But he's still around and guess what? This: "Republican state party leaders are rebelling against new Republican National Committee Chairman Michael S. Steele for failing to dub President Obama and the Democrats as 'socialist.'" Oh my god.
Even though Mr. Steele has called his Democratic adversaries "collectivists," at least 16 state leaders say the term lacks the pejorative punch needed to sway public opinion and want all 168 members of the Republican National Committee to debate and vote on it.
It is the first time in memory that a sitting national leader of the Republican Party has faced a public challenge over his ideological leadership by conservative members of his own national committee.
Yeah we think the American public has already noted the "pejorative punch" of socialism, since Obama has been called a socialist on every network 10 million times already, for no reason. It's kind of like during the general election when conservatives got mad at John McCain and the media for "not covering" Bill Ayers enough, even though he had been covered pretty relentlessly. People have this tendency to make up their minds at some point, is the problem! And wacky Michael Steele just wants his party to have more than 35% of the electorate. He must be smoking reefer cigarettes, or something.
