Never Ending Changes, Now With Free Samples
Wednesday, June 3: Potbelly Sandwich Works recently made a lot ofconfusing changes to the menu. The sandwiches got bigger, smaller and skinnier, and when this happened, we knew that it was just the beginning. Ever determined to baffle with their loyal patrons, Potbelly's now sells Zapp's "soon to be world famous chips." Why do they think we'll enjoy chips that have yet to reach their potential? WHY???But at least Potbelly's is giving us the opportunity to try out these magic Zapp's: today from 11AM-2PM, chips are free with the purchase of any sandwich. [ Potbelly Sandwich Works ]
Thursday, June 4: Asia takes center stage this Thursday at the "Asia After Dark" event at the Smithsonian's Freer and Sackler Galleries. Although one of the selling points of the event is that you can use paper from Nepal to make your own business card (!!!), this shouldn't dissuade you from going, as there will also be cool DJs, drinks, and dancing from 6: 30PM-11:30PM. Word of warning: the event is practically sold out. Get there early to guarantee a ticket. $18. [Sackler Gallery ]
Monday, June 8: Whether you've been to Spain or not, everyone knows that Paella is YUMMY and Jaleo is giving it out for free to kick off their Paella Festival. We don't question why paella warrants a festival, but we will enjoy the free samples offered at the restaurant on Monday from 6PM-8PM. If you can't wait until then, free samples of paella will be offered on Sunday at the Dupont Circle farmers market. [Jaleo ]

Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7: This weekend you have plenty of opportunities to sit on the rooftop of the Capital Skyline Hotel and to drink with the company of your choice. If you live every day wishing you were back at college, Metromix and Lindy Promotions are hosting a pool party on Friday from 5PM to 10PM. Or, if you enjoy the hipster crowd, and are particularly eager to be self conscious in your bathing suit, the Brightest Young Things are hosting their weekly hipster/indie party on Saturday from 2PM to 10PM. Then there's Chef Spike, and if you want to help him succeed in his quest to take over DC one hamburger at a time, he'll be grilling poolside at the hotel on Sunday from 12PM-6PM.
