Barack Obama showed up at the local community center in Quincy, Illinois the other day to hand out free money to illegal immigrants, so the local Tea Party piled in their minivans and drove over there to protest. But Sultan Hussein did not want these patriots exercising their rights, so he called out his royal SWAT Teams of Murder & Death to destroy them.

These were innocent defenseless elderly ladies he did this to, people! They just wanted to love their country a little, because they thought it was free. Somewhere John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzales are huddling under a blanket, crying.

The "official story" from the Quincy Herald Whig:

There were a few tense moments when the crowd moved west down York toward Third Street after the president's motorcade arrived. A Secret Service agent asked the crowd to move back across the street to the north side. When the crowd didn't move and began singing "God Bless, America" and the national anthem, Quincy Deputy Police Chief Ron Dreyer called for members of the Mobile Field Force to walk up the street.

The officers, mainly from Metro East departments near St. Louis and dressed in full body armor, marched from the east and stood on the south side of York facing the protesters.

There was no physical contact, and the officers did not come close to the crowd, but there were catcalls and more than a few upset tea party members, including a woman who shouted, "This is communism!"

While the lamestream media plays down this assault on freedom, America's liberty freedom patriot rebel wake-up bloggers continue fighting for truth, because just look at those violent extremists and the RIOT POLICE, my God, how absurd. Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin made fun of a "very small geared-up officer" whose smallness led her "to believe it might have been 'take your SWAT kid to work day,'" which is not a very "9/11—Never Forget" thing to say, at all.

Luckily, Steve McQueen is on the scene! Not "King of Cool" Steve McQueen, but "King of Quincy Tea Bag Party" Steve McQueen, whose group Ensuring Liberty will protect you from riot cop death squads, Guantanamo on the Hudsons and other oppressions for only $12 a year. You have to join this organization right now! To save the grandmas, you must do it.

A guest post by "Knitsy McPurlson," which we suspect is not a real name.

Yr Wonkette is not the only website run by brilliant peoples unafraid to poke people with sharp, pointy sticks. Ravelry.com – a website for knitters, crocheters, and other folks interested in textiles and fiber arts – is poking people with knitting needles, which are very sharp indeed.

This past weekend, Ravelry.com's founders showed the world how easy it is to de-platform white nationalists and racists when they banned all "support of Donald Trump and his administration" from their website, concluding they "cannot provide a space that is inclusive of all and also allow support for open white supremacy." Seems like people smart enough to decode a knitting pattern are also smart enough to decode Trump's not-so-hidden message of racism and white nationalism.

One day, God willing, my grandchildren will click open their history textbooks and read about the Central American migrant internment camps. They'll learn about sick kids, locked in cages, kept hungry and dirty and cold for weeks on end, and they'll be horrified.

"Bubbie," they'll say, "how could this happen in America? How could there be toddlers sleeping on the ground without blankets, without soap or toothbrushes to clean themselves?"

"I don't know. I wish I had done more. I'm ashamed," I'll say. We will all have to answer for this atrocity. But some of us will have to answer more than others. Not just the archvillains like Stephen Miller and John Kelly, but the people who kept right on doing their jobs, even as those jobs morphed into defending concentration camps.
