Open Thread: It's 'The Handmaid's Tale,' But For MEN.
Hey Wonkers! Did you finish watching The Handmaid's Tale yet? Did it make you want to set all the things on fire and also cry a lot through the whole thing? Or did you not even watch it because it just seems like there's never, ever a time when you're emotionally prepared enough to deal with that shit, because everything is horrible all the time now? No spoilers, but I have to say that the "I'm sorry, Aunt Lydia" thing in the finale got me right in the freaking gut.
Well, if you thought that was heartwrenching, behold this Funny or Die sketch in which the script is flipped and men are the Hand...men.
It's funny 'cause it's true. Or at least it's true to the extent that these are the kinds of things men's rights activists and Red Pill idiots consider "oppressive" to men, which appear all the more ridiculous when you compare them to the kind of things women have to fear from men. Somehow, a world without manspreading is just not as compellingly horrific as the patriarchal dystopia of The Handmaid's Tale. Somehow.
Anyway -- IT'S YOUR OPEN THREAD! ENJOY!
