I still have not been able to read "Against all Enemies", for the same reason.

Oh, absolutely. But there are times when I am just maxed out as to how much more dysfunction and ratfucking I can digest. It would be nice to think a day will come when these bastards go down in flames and I can read the book with hilarity and schadenfreude.

It is a tough read, but I'm of the know thy enemy mindset.

I literally had my hand on that book at the library a few weeks back when I paused and thought to myself "how depressed do I want to be reading this for the next week?"

Over the weekend President Skidmark tweeted he will hold his Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, Vietnam. Details are still sketchy, but we're reasonably confident Trump will suggest holding the meeting at the Hanoi Hilton. And he'd do it just to spite dead-John McCain.

I'm genuinely confused as to how slavery plays into this. I'm also confused as to how you can just Know that I haven't called out King and Cruz and Zeldin (McCarthy, no, because he's a nonentity) or if you're being general.

Thank you Dominic, for many good words, and for the above quote:

Republicans are bawling this morning after Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar said mean things about AIPAC on Twitter. Rep. Omar was shitposting with Glenn Greenwald -- who was hypocritically rambling about #Merica from his safespace in Brazil -- when she criticized the pro-Israel lobby for making it rain all over Washington. Apparently it's OK for Republicans to support anti-Semitic white supremacists like Rep. Steve King, but when a Muslim woman (very clumsily) decries lobbying she's advocating genocide. IN PEACH!

(I think she also looked fetching in her blue hijab ON THE FLOOR OF CONGRESS!1!1!!)

I have been sitting here, 'waist-deep' in Washington snow and slush, reading how the 'Democratic Leadership' castigated her for telling a sort-of truth about the Sheldon Adelsons and the Benjamins Netanyahus who encourage Congress to make life hell for Palestinians and sell lots of weapons to the Israeli military complex to distribute as they deem fit.

It just shows that a Muslim Congresswoman doesn't have the same rights to free speech as our Apprentice-in-Chief dickweed lunatic. I only hope Nancy P. did this to preserve decorum rather than scold a newbie for saying what she sees.

A few things

https://twitter.com/AJentle...https://twitter.com/ashleyf...https://twitter.com/EgSophi...

Also in the spirit of thishttps://twitter.com/KaivanS...

if anyone is harping on an “ill-considered” comment who isn’t interested in commenting on the “ill-considered” comments of Kevin McCarthy AND Steve King AND Ted Cruz AND Lee Zeldin, but they’re going real hard on Ilhan Omar’s “ill-considered comments”, then they’ve got a literal blind spot WRT their own implicit biases and I’m not really trying to hear too much more from them until they’ve thought it over … and that contains pretty much every single “centrist” and “old Democrat” in leadership, and this from someone who went hard from Speaker Pelosi.

I’m sick of white people who think they’re “being fair” and then turn into Ralph Northam who can’t choke out “slavery” – to Gayle King of all people - and thinks “indentured servants” is “historically correct” and acts like he doesn’t understand who benefits from revisionist history. Just … no more patience for it after 400 years of it

Agreed. JFC. Rep Omar has said some things that as a Jew I find problematic (come on, even if the "it's all about the Benjamins" thing wasn't a Jewish joke, it was a really ill chosen comment), but disagreeing with the lady isn't the same as seeing her as a 'thing' or speaking in such a demeaning manner about her. Ugh.

It's also so, so fucking dumb that evangelicals can bamboozle some of my people into thinking they actually give a shit about Jewish lives.

So did they fucking cave on building a wall, or is the billion dollars going to shore up existing infrastructure? Because I swear to Christ I am going to start hexing if there is going to be WALL. This isn't the DMZ.
