Win the senate and then they can make ALL SORTS of crazy laws!

I think the liberals should start a project to closely follow the court behavior and financial filings of these FedSoc picks. I tend to think that people who lack principle in their daily and professional lives, as so many of them do, let that spill over into other areas as well.

His assassins wrecked what was left of the Republic, not Caesar. He was expanding the Senate to include common people, rather than only aristocrats (this was one of the things that enraged the men who decided to kill him); he was gifting all his veterans with land, something that had never happened before; he had instituted a public works program, employing citizens, rather than using slaves. By the time Caesar came into power, most people were without jobs, as the nobility only used slaves, and even merchants and tradesmen were getting rich by using slaves, leaving the people jobless. It's impossible to know how it would have turned out, but the idea that he was only interested in power and not the people is mostly wrong. And Tyrant was an official and legal title, which meant that he could take certain executive actions (but not others).

I'm sorry, but I don't see that comparing him to Trump is apt. Most of the improvements Octavian went on to make to Rome were modeled after, and inspired by, Caesar's plans to make Rome a thriving city again. What has Trump done for anyone but himself and a handful of wealthy friends? And your assertion was that Rome was a democracy. It was not.

To be clear,it's not an unbroken 123 years...in 1980,after Carter had been defeated for reelection, the outgoing (Democratic but about to become Republican) Senate confirmed Stephen Breyer (outgoing Judiciary Chairman Ted Kennedy's staff director) to the First Circuit.(Clinton elevated him to the SCOTUS in 1994).

But after Trump was defeated, the McConnell Senate didn't just confirm Kathryn Mizelle, but ELEVEN other District judges (four of them born in the 1980s),along withThomas Kirsch (born 1974) to ACBarrett's seat on the Seventh Circuit (Biden has had an even younger judge reported out of committee for that circuit now,but she was born in 1979)...and four judges born 1978-83 were confirmed to 15-year terms on the Court of Federal Claims in December 2020.

She was actually one of 12 District Judges McConnell got confirmed after the election, she was the youngest, ahead of 36-year-old Katherine Crytzer of Tennessee, but not the first.

But significantly less than a lawyer whose CV includes having been a US Judge can make, which is why some of them step down.

You forgot Alex Kozinski,on the 9th at 35.

Edith Jones on the 5th Circuit, also at 35 which is why she can last another ten years on there is she chooses to do so.

You DID mention Jones...just omitted Kozinski (born 1950,appointed 1985,pressured into retirement in 2017 over sexual harassment charges...previously made Chief Judge of the Court of Claims by Reagan at age 32).He succeeded Jones as the youngest active circuit judge and was months younger at appointment than she was.

Trump's youngest circuit judges are Andrew Brasher(born 1981) and Allison Jones Rushing(1982),I believe.

Yup.And Brasher replaced a George Sr judge, Edward Carnes who was put on the 11th Circuit when he was 42.Republicans have been playing the long game on the courts for a long time sad to say.

It's curious that some courts have NO Trump appointees...some seats in New Jersey have been vacant for years (Biden has filled two),and Western Washington is down to two active judges (GWB appointees) and five vacancies,so the three Biden nominees will be a majority there on confirmation(they were born 1966,1973,and 1982,so there will be a Biden-appointed Chief there for a long time).

I forgot Justin Walker(born 1982) among the young Trump judges,he's on the DC Circuit.(Incidentally,if Merrick Garland had been confirmed to the SCOTUS,he would have been succeeded as Chief there by Utah Republican Thomas Griffiths, who instead left the court after becoming too old to become Chief under current law, paving the way for Obama appointee Srinavasan).
