Two things will happen tonight-

1) the president will announce some rather mild, incremental reforms that for the most part will fail to address the actual core problems, but will rather nibble around the edges of them in his usual timid, consensus seeking way.

2) The GOP will nonetheless freak out and go ballistic, as if Obama had literally taken a blowtorch to the constitution on live TeeVee, and will screech and scream and pull their hair out in a frenzy of "the sky is falling" hysteria.

The end result will be- the Dem base will be once again disappointed that more isn't being done and the GOP base will be whipped into full blown, foaming at the mouth outrage- IOW, the story of his entire presidency...
