Happy lady, happy smiles! The two foulest instances of journalism I ever witnessed were both committed by the same woman, Christina Gonzales, a TV reporter out of L.A. In the first, she stood across the street from the house of an elderly couple whose daughter's body had just been found. "They've asked us to leave," she said, or with words very similar, "so to honor their privacy we've moved all the way across the street." The second was worse: a woman had come home to find her husband had murdered all five of their children. The woman paced manically back and forth in her apartment courtyard in an insane, frenzied fog of grief. The camera followed her the entire time.
The Roseburg Gun Shop's FB page had a few critical comments about that photo (by other people) and about the photo in The Guardian's article about the of an Obama cutout draped in a Muslim-y scarf and holding a card saying he was the store's best salesman (by me). They have had the nerve to delete comments! I wouldn't mind if a snark mob visited them in the next few days. (Hands in pockets, whistling--and getting ready for a Saturday workday at an Oregon community college.)
Thanks, always! You sure put me in good company ... I'm humbled! QUESTION: Do you see that post just below from Eykis? Is it me, or does it look like a troll to you? That number reminds me of a JG Wentworth commercial on TV. I'm crazy, but I think I'll pass on that. What say you?
I'd never call or text a number a stranger posted on the internets, but offered in good faith, I think. Unless trolls have somehow discovered the art of subtlety.
Thank you. I think I remember that journo in LA. I loved living there but LA tv news was worse than any other U.S. city I'd ever lived in. Often gruesome, exploitative, and disrespectful to victims and their families.
I remember when a woman was killed while waiting in the family car for her kids. The school or building she'd been parked in front of had cctv. A few LA news channels kept showing the footage of her car being slammed into by the recklessly driven truck that killed her. I emailed the 1 station after they showed the footage for the 10th time. They responded saying it was news. It was the 'public's right to know' and basically since I wasn't related to the deceased woman, I should stfu. That's when I stopped watching local news.
Hope you have a good time in Portland. Nice town with lots of fun people. And lots of Brian types too also.
Our local Sheriff was one of those idiots that wrote letters protesting gun laws, and saying that if everyone would just obey the police, no one would get shot by them. He is no longer our Sheriff, the County decided to hire a new one.
The old assheriff is now doing his sheriff thing somewhere else and we have a slightly more humane one.
Oh, guns have other purposes! You can pretend to kill people! Also, there is the sexual component....how would NSRA members get microstiffies if they couldn't loving oil and stoke their store-bought courage!
I joined Moms Demand Action in the beginning. i joined this one two days ago~

They deserved it because they didn't buy one of my guns!
At least you aren't surrounded by them in real life. So bonus you can just put them on ignore. :)
Good on you, but...

Crazy ladies have done plenty of big things. Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Sojourner Truth come to mind...

Corollary when playing obscure snark from the catalog of deep tracks always end with a dick joke. Or boobs. Heh heh. Boobs.

I am though. I live in South Dakota. But I am a hermit, so, fuck those guys.
what pathetic people will do for money and attention doesn't say much for the human condition

O.k. Doc. I'm not bitter about being ignored. So what do you think about the jet-powered shark?
