I had to make myself leave this conversation this morning and go to work. I find this stuff really fascinating. I am a late boomer, and there are real experiential differences between me and my husband, who is only 5 years older. From teevee to music to college competition, job competition, etc. I was pre-pubescent during the Summer of Love, for example. He ONLY went to college to avoid the draft (which, in hindsight, was far better for him than going to a factor or something as he might have done. Also far better than getting killed in Vietnam.).

But then the younger generations fascinate me too. There are always those who thwart the stereotypes. I don't look at these insights as diminishing or categorizing people, but as giving me one more bit of access to help understand them through their experience.

Still wondering what they will call these up and coming youngers? They are starting to make a name for themselves. The Parkland Generation, perhaps? Parklanders? I like that better than Gen Z.

They will decide, when they are ready.

Every time I read something about "Devin" Nunes I think of those sovereign citizen nuts who think they can get out of paying taxes or breaking land use laws by intentionally misspelling their own names or using weird punctuation. Also by affixing stamps to everything and mailing themselves "legal" documents.
