According To Quick Tally of RNC, Michael Steele Has No Chance
A weeklong canvass of the party’s governing board by POLITICO revealed 88 members who have decided not to vote for Steele, either opting to support one of his opponents or simply ruling out Steele as a choice in the race.
But this is TEH POLITICO after all. They treat everything like a horse race and are completely blind to the complex and malleable factors that go into voter preferences. This is a slippery slope. Once the RNC begins purging the idiots from the party, they're likely not to have many members left.
Michael Steele will be a huge loss to Jon Stewart and Daily Show. (wonkette.com too) We can only hope they pick someone with the right potential -- a Palin or a Gingrich. But in the best of all worlds -- Party Chairman Glenn Beck. "Tears of a Clown" will be the new party anthem.
