What about the kids that come out "wrong"? We know how Donald Trump feels about them ("Just let them die"). Will the rest of the GOP endorse a similar policy of eugenics, especially given RFKJ's views that neurodiversity means you can't fall in love/toilet-train?

How will they take care "the trash," as they so clearly see it?

As long as they let Elon put women’s menstrual cycle data into his Grok AI program paid via a government contract, I’m sure lots of MAGA would support it.

You know what sounds better than $5000 and the period movie? A living wage, affordable housing, parental leave, adequately funded schools, decent medical care, and a robust social safety net.

Ta, Robyn. A measly $5000? That wouldn't begin to pay for what it costs to have an uncomplicated hospital birth, and then there's that whole obligation to feed, clothe, educate, and raise said children to adulthood. I'm so glad neither I nor my husband ever had children. We love our fur babies, and our extended family, but I'm glad the nuclear family is Meccalopolis, his brothers, my sister, and little Zyxomma.

There was a guy in the Post Office yesterday bitching about the price of stamps - "SEVENTY THREE CENTS !?!?!?, I can remember when they were fifty cents" and I think he was onto something because I'm sure the lady behind the counter was the one who decided to raise the price and should be the one to catch hell about it. I shut him up when I riposted that I can remember when a new car cost three thousand bucks. Guess I showed him.

So creepy and weird. Literally nothing is going to happen to white people or anyone else in our lifetimes if a few less people are born. I recently encountered a white conservative dude and he told me people are not having enough kids. It was worrisome for him. I just looked at him, waiting for the punchline. Conservatives worry about the weirdest shit.

Have kids if you want to raise them. Don’t have kids if you don’t, or aren’t pretty sure. Because it’s hard. It’s expensive, it’s tiring, and it’s a daily sacrifice. It is also often rewarding and fun too. But it’s always hard. And don’t worry if young people are choosing to remain childless more. Plenty of kids will be born. Instead, try to make their world better, kinder, freer, more accepting and less angry, bitter, and misinformed. And for heaven’s sake don’t have 7 kids because an Indian family moved into your neighborhood, or because some Christian conservative or politician told you to.

Well, it makes sense. With all the "traditional" diseases they are bringing back, childhood mortality is going to go through the roof and not enough will make it to adulthood for them to function. (It makes more sense to me to use the tools we have to make sure as many kids as possible can make it to adulthood, but then, I'm not a Republican.)

Wait, wait, wait a minute. WHEN did it stop being common sense that the world is dying because of overpopulation and we have to *stop* breeding?!?

WeWantPie's avatar

Yeah, I remember when that was common sense. . . back when the Earth's human population was 2/3 what it is now! It's unfathomable to me that NOW, of all times, when there are approximately 8.5 BILLION of us on the planet, these weirdos have decided to fixate on a lower birthrate?

I'll tell you whose birthrates I worry about: Elephants. Monarch butterflies. Pangolins. Rhinos. Manatees. Tigers. That's who we need more of. We have PLENTY OF PEOPLE!

Just a reminder this is all for WHITE KIDS ONLY. They won't say any of that out loud, but that's what they're upset about - not enough white kids.

Not enough white kids being born to conservative white couples.

They don't seem to realize that these Ozzie and Harriet fantasy families are built on a foundation of a responsible white male who provides.

Today's Ozzies are entitled, barely-employable morons who want wives who are all woman in the bedroom and a mother everywhere else.

Well, much as I used to enjoy the original Ozzie (Nelson, not Osborne) he seemed to be pretty much a barely-employable moron himself - I never recall him going to work like Ward Cleaver. And I think it's neat that George Costanza dated his granddaughter because she reminded him of Jerry.

btw, that is similar to what people mean when they say the "working class" supports the rapist. The WHITE is of course implied. (Harris won overall among people making < $30K.)

"One proposal shared with aides would reserve 30 percent of scholarships for the Fulbright program, the prestigious, government-backed international fellowship, for applicants who are married or have children."

Why don't they just come right out with it and say "for men who are married or have children," since it's clear they don't want women to do anything but housework and babymaking and tending?

Hahaha, my mom had a litter. Granted not as cuddly as the one pictured here. She didn't get no stinkin' Fulbright Scholarship. With little kids all over the place, I dunno what she could have done with it. You don't just pack up and walk away. We all knew that dads had the important jobs. Moms have that other one.
