It could easily become both. A bank holiday, for bankers only; everyone else comes in and works for free.

I mean "voluntarily, on behalf of the brave firefighters and policemen who gave their lives on this day" which we remember by not paying for their healthcare and defunding their pensions.

The poor and middle class have lost <a href="http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/economy\/2013\/07\/31\/2387161\/cost-of-financial-crisis\/" target="_blank">about 14 trillion dollars</a> in the last decade. The rich have <a href="http:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/id\/100780163" target="_blank">gained about 14 trillion dollars. </a> Pure coincidence, I'm sure.

Yeah, the seven percent of labor represented by unions is the problem and those fatcat union thug leaders who make a fraction of the money that CEO's make are the true robber barons. And WHAT fruits of our labor? That all got syphoned off by the one percent long before we got to see it or Uncle Sam got to tax it. Blame the poor, blame organized labor, blame the democrats- anyone but the actual perpetrators of our economic disparity.

Labor Day should be May 4th, anyways, considering it came about as a way to appease American laborers after the Haymarket riot and police gunning down workers at the behest of Pullman
