This month marks the ten-year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq and Operation YARRRGHHHH FREEDOM LIBERATORS DERPDERPDERP. Do you remember where you were when you first heard our brave troops had crossed the border in their insufficiently armored vehicles? We were in a cubicle in Burbank, CA, reading CNN and facepalming, but as much as we hate to remember that cubicle and the job that went with it, we recognize there were much, much more dangerous places for a young man in his late twenties to be at that moment.
I fondly remember the letters to the editor supporting the Patriot Act, and insisting that quaint things like trials and the fourth amendment and no fucking torture were "Old-fashioned trivialities" that we just couldn't afford anymore. After all, "those people" were trying to overthrow our government!
Oddly enough, these letters were from the same people now angrily defending the Second Amendment as ABSOLUTE, and that the sacred constitution gives us the RIGHT to overthrow our government by force, if "we" think it's necessary.
Still waiting for the rose petals...
George Bush is STILL waiting for his thank you from the Iraqis!
Shut up, Tom.
Well, thank you for profiting on my childhood.
good movie. before we even knew the hell of the bush years.
sigggghhhh.
i heard an old clip of rumsfeld today (denying the steele allegations). indeed wanted to do some throat punching.
so what they're saying is all that 'zero dark thirty' stuff could maybe just a little have been true?
weird.
A mere pallet full...
But that trick never works. This time for sure. Presto!
Somehow, the Associated Press has concluded, not right at all!
"If you want a happy ending, that depends, of course, on where you stop your story."
