just reread this at the end of the year to see if any of it took hold. the answer is no. we need to primary the f*** out of almost every Democrat. if the primary fails it's still ok to vote for the Democrat, that's why we have primaries.

NO BIG TENT. They can form their own party this time.

Democrats, understand this, if you understand nothing else. When trump cancels the midterms, and he WILL try, you will be among the first ones thrown into a cell or put up against the wall. And that's NOT hyperbole! He already has ARMED, active duty military engaged in Law Enforcement on US streets, in a clear and obvious violation of the Constitution and Posse Comitatus, and you're all utterly silent. Don't EVEN get me started on how not ONE of these troops have refused the unlawful orders, and not one officer has resigned his commision in protest.

You think he won't have those same troops kick down your doors in the middle of the night, and drag you and your families out into the street and executed "For the good of the State"? If so, you're too stupid to be in office to begin with.

Either step up and fight, or resign.

As to gerrymandering, once the deck is stacked, the dealing is irrelevant.

Looking at this article six months after it was published Democrats have done none of these things. Why?

I do so appreciate the few strong voices among the Democratic elected, but none of this is going to happen. Not anything that will effectively turn the tide against this authoritarian takeover. Put yourself in their sick twisted mindset. They think that absolute brutal power is just within their reach, and if they can grasp it all crimes, no matter how monstrous, become moot. Even people who are resisting most are not facing this.

You know what has to happen, and where this will go. The sooner people start preparing in earnest the better chance we will all have at prevailing in the end. And there is going to be a lot of hurting ahead, and martyrs.

I googled breaking news today and saw that the Pentagon was hit by more firings. Seems like systemic dismantling of Government to me.

MAGA enthused the self-pitying and hateful with anger, hatred and volume. There's no anti-MAGA. There should be one, Using justice, strength and vigour. And yes, volume too.

Get yourself some paladins, guys. Hell, you could even use the term : Republican MAGAs versus Democrat Paladins. For freedom and justice!

This is everything. It's what I've been feeling and thinking and I'm not alone. SO WHY HAVEN'T DEMOCRATS THOUGHT OF ANY OF THIS THEMSELVES? Are we that close to firing squads lining them up against a wall? C'MON! Isn't it their country, too?

They might raise a serious concern about actually being shot. Or maybe they won't.

This. This. This. I think this is how it’s working: 1) Trump is the shill, the guy distracting us with things like pave Gaza and buy Greenland; 2) Some of Trump’s moves (tariffs) are about stick manipulation and special exemptions for special people who just happen to arrive at Mar-a-Lago with suitcases full of cash; 3) the real action is Musk and his little pervs jamming their grubby fingers and drives into every one of the government’s crevices. This #3 means they can cut off funds to anyone: organizations, congress critters they don’t like, every single Social Security recipient in blue states. So we have to put a relentless and ugly spotlight on #3 without entirely losing sight of 1 and 2. Also, there is so much defeatism in the comments. I get it. But we have to assume there will be elections in 2026 and 2028 and then work to make them happen by gumming up everything—Congress and beyond—until it does. Musk/Trump are already killing people by cutting off Medically necessary aid. They will not stop. They do not care. It’s up to us and, yeah, every single Congress critter needs to hear from us and we need to fight to wine every special election and court fight everywhere.
