I'm happy to hear that was knocked out, but really, it was pretty pointless, viz:
Assuming that most students that want to vote where they live (that is, attend college) want to do this so they can influence elections where they live; and assuming that virtually all liberal parents, and probably quite a few conservative ones, agree with this idea; and noting that this tax credit would only apply to parents who were claiming the student as a dependent; and observing that if you are claiming your student as a dependent, you are likely paying a metric shitload of money already; and speculating that the tax credit is probably as tiny as tax credits usually are;
