I would advise avoiding guns in most circumstances, but unloaded guns being displayed in a threatening manner are asking for trouble more serious than you would care to imagine.
I live in KY, so Andy’s my guy. I’ll be honest: I voted for him willingly but without enthusiasm. Mostly because of his dad, I think. I wasn’t a fan. In hindsight I was always glad he was AG when Bevin was in office, but I never put 2+2 together. I was more glad Bevin lost than he won.
No more. I sold the guy waaaaaaay short.
My wife got in the habit of watching his 5pm updates. It’s become a welcome ritual around here. The guy’s good. He’s real good. God knows we have more than our of knuckle draggers in this state (the fact that I have Mitch Fucking McConnell and Rand Fucking Paul as my Senators and Thomas Goddamned Massie as my Congresscritter says everything that needs to be said about how cruel a joke life is here). It’s so weird to actually respect someone in office. Last time I liked my state’s governor so much? Ann Richards.
I also find it interesting that the only states where there are protests, and gatherings of idiots, are in states that have governors who are Democrats.
I love when the idiots are all "hurr...durr...government bad" and then they realize that Donald Trump is president, so they get a little confused. "Wait, do I still hate the government?"
There are alarming signs and portents that the Republican Party (and, more worrying, its wealthy donor base, including Wall Street and Silicon Valley as well as the more sinister and traditionally anti-democracy crowd in the Oil Patch) is going to double down on funding and subsidizing this kind of stuff.
The Republican Party's grey eminences appear to have concluded that since they cannot thrive in a democracy, the thing to do is to eliminate the democracy.
This moment in our history would be a last gasp for the GOP----they would genuinely be on the way out, as a minority party with sharply limited demographic appeal and grotesquely unpopular policies----except for the fact that men like Stephen Schwartzman, Lloyd Blankfein, Jamie Dimon, et al, along with the social media billionaires, have decided to go all IG Farben, bankrolling the Republicans as they decline into open fascism.
The election this coming November is make or break.
"On Sunday, some "patriots" and armed anti-government militia types held a big rally at the Kentucky Capitol building in Frankfort to show they want to "Take Back Kentucky" from the majority of Kentuckians who support the public health orders put in place by Gov. Andy Beshear."
They are only "anti-government" when Democrats are at the helm.
I doubt he was a salesman. He probably swept the service center and refilled the vending machines.
Cooooooo-eeeeeee! Coo! Coo! Coo!

Watch this guy. He’s good.
My husband gave me a bad fade, and I'm fine with it.

Bowling Green.
The whole 'god is a white man' thing is dying out. Too violent.
Pride, gluttony and lust. Plus, a failure to educate the population to maintain a modern democracy.
I volunteered at women's clinics for years. I assure you it is exponentially and horrifically WORSE now IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY.

Yikes!
Good thing for them that they are not black people trying to peacefully protest the brutal murder of a human by cops! There's your terrorism, mister.
Beshear 2024
I will not be afraid. I will not be bullied. And I will not back down, not to them and not to anybody else
Trump was lucky to find her.For a while there it looked like he'd have to give the job to Jared.
