One day it will occur to the DimBulbFive on SCOTUS, as it occured to the rest of us immediately the issue presented, that there is nothing to stop President Electable Impunity from coming for *them* -- even slavish anticipation of his every desire won't suffice, bc they gave him the power to prevent them from removing that power before they ever do (as all dictators purge their enablers) -- though, being the cretins they are, the realization won't come until nobody is taking their sobbing calls from the concrete floor of their "deportation" cell.

Hello, Ms. Jones,

Sadly, the answer is NO. This is becoming a true authoritarian Cult of Personality, and I have been reviewing my earlier tweets on what happened in Turkey (with the public arrests of college professors, judges, and politicians). Anyone now who does not blindly kow-tow to Dear Leader will be considered a "security threat" and "enemy of the state." Given the toe-dipping into the erosion of birthright citizenship, that could be the next step.. stateless-ness and shipment to foreign prisons of cronies of this regime.

I thought there was a SIGNIFICANT elevation when there was a thuggish takeover a few days ago of The Institute of Peace. That was founded by RONALD REAGAN.

It's time for these judges whose orders are being blatantly disobeyed to start holding the responsible parties in contempt of court and throwing them in jail.

I'll bet a pantywaist like Stephen Miller wouldn't last a day in jail before he started crying for him Mommy. Oh, I would sell tickets to see that worm behind bars. And Karoline Leavitt, as well.

But the ones most deserving of contempt of court charges are the government lawyers who get up in front of the judges and are all, 'Planes, what planes? Ain't no planes here.'

The opposition waited too long... Trump Admin is simply ignoring judiciary. Boingino (no installed as Deputy at FBI) openly mocked the option, basically saying "Who is going to enforce that? Trump owns the U.S Marshalls. Sadly, in DC, the local Metropolitan Police joined in the thuggery in DOGE's takeover of an independent agency founded by Reagan a few days ago ("The Institute of Peace").

That is the next step. They will do it surely. But it has to be enforced. Problem.

You have to take your schadenfreude where you can find it, and the Supreme Court knows their day of reckoning is drawing near - the day they issue a direct order that Trump disagrees with and he ignores it, openly. The Tangerine Regime is already defying federal court orders, and lazily brushing them off because Trump is Supreme Ruler, and therefore cannot be wrong. They asked for this. Republicans asked for this. The moment when Trump’s people announce what Stephen Miller said on TV in 2017 that got him sent back to the basement - “Trump’s authority will not be questioned,” is upon us. Miller was treated as if he was over his head, talking out his ass. It turns out he was simply ahead of his skis.

The federal court has no teeth to force Trump and his goons to comply. They will be too afraid to hold anyone in contempt, and even if they did, is any bailiff or sheriff or court officer going to do anything??? Even the SCOTUS must know they simply issue opinions. Trump won’t follow any ruling he doesn’t like, which will probably create another obvious constitutional crisis, but also a larger problem where judge’s orders are ignored by MAGA thugs. They are watching him for signs that they are above the law, and can act in his name with impunity.

Interview excerpt in NYT w/Schumer:

Q: (Lulu Garcia-Navarro) There is a sense, though, that whatever messaging Democrats are doing right now is either too little, too late or, to use a bit of internet speak, a little cringe. I’ve noticed a discernible increase in the way party leadership, including you, is attempting to use social media since the election, with more direct-to-camera videos, more explainers. It feels as if it’s coming from consultants. I’ll use that word again: authenticity. Is it? No.

Schumer: We feel it. We just assumed we were on the side of working people, so they would naturally assume it, and it didn’t happen. We lost them because they didn’t think we cared about them enough. We always did care about them, but we didn’t convey it. So now, as you said, we’re learning to convey in different ways. I put Cory Booker and Tina Smith in charge of the social media. We had, like, 60 influencers at the State of the Union. And again, learning how to communicate. Not just Chuck Schumer talking about the legislation we passed, but I brought people there who were affected by what’s happening. I brought a veteran, and they went on all the social media and, according to the people who tell me, because I get all these reports, it had millions and millions of views. The bottom line is, I think the party as a whole neglected how the social media has become so much more important, but we’re learning it quickly, and we’re doing it much better, and we’re gonna do it better still.

It's sickening. The stooges like Rubio and Homan need to be brought up on charges....many of the things they are doing are illegal. The President has immunity, maybe, but they don't.

Imagine if you were misidentified in the arrest of the all those Venezuelans and now you get to spend a year (at least) in an El Salvador super max prison. This is going to happen if it hasn’t already.

Flag State Jurisdiction

A State may exercise jurisdiction over a vessel that is registered with the State and flying its flag. This exercise of jurisdiction is based on the internationally recognized principle that a State may regulate the conduct of its nationals even when those nationals are acting outside of the State’s territory. See The Apollon, 22 U.S. (9 Wheat.) 362, 370 (1824) offsite link (“The laws of no nation can justly extend beyond its own territories, except so far as regards its own citizens.”). Because flag state jurisdiction depends on the nationality of the vessel, it may be exercised upon the high seas and within the waters over which a foreign State exercises jurisdiction.
