I fled the increasingly Christo-fascist US years ago. On the occasions I need to return for a visit, I won't drive because that would increase my chances of a police interaction, and I'm a middle-aged white guy. If you're poor or a person of color it's much, MUCH more dangerous.
'Scuze me while I go post this fine article about der police "just doing their job" on the windshield of the car I recently passed by that was parked at the park with the bumper sticker that said "don't defund police, defund politicians." While I might agree with taking the billionaire's club's moneys out of politics I think we can also direct our tax dollars towards improving public safety with other creative ideas besides throwing them at the descendants of the fugitive slave patrols and saying "anything goes guys!"
I wonder why the cops don't like Donnel Burks. Unless it's just pure coincidence that their attitude seemed to shift from "helping her put her tags on" to "beating her up" after they asked that question.

The only time I’ll risk calling a cop these days is when I need a report for my insurance company. They must send different guys when you just need a report, because I’ve yet to hear about anybody getting shot requesting one.
The police are a threat to anyone's life. Especially if not white or in mental or chemical distress, but I can attest, they will attack ANYONE for ANY REASON.
The right-wing incel that murdered that guy shooting at Trump was spotted and for 20 minutes they did nothing. They let him get in place and start shooting before they took action. He was white.
