Or we could just let the guy run for Congress first. There's a lot of MAGA damage to undo at levels the Presidency can't influence. We need a lot of good Dems to help with that.
This is exactly what my dad always said about the army, that it gave him the experience of meeting people from all different backgrounds, even New York (he grew up in Chicago; the New Yorkers fascinated him). He voted for Adlai Stevenson, so it's not a GOP conversion machine. It's great that this guy follows in the Buttigieg tradition.
He sounds great. Dems can really change the country and marginalize the gop “into the dustbin of history,” to quote Ron “boots” DeSantis. We’ve had great (but brief) success with guys named Jones in red states. Doug Jones, now Marcus. If we can cut through the scary lies about Dems, which is all wingers have, they are irrelevant. Mike Johnson and religious extremism joined with maga insanity isn’t a path to American prosperity.
"French Hill isn't a bad guy, he's just the wrong guy."
French Hill is a rich banker who wears good suits and has polished manners and lovely grey hair. Earned an Economics degree from Vanderbilt and a 100% rating on the anti-abortion warpath. Ninth-generation Arkie Catholic. Did economic-policy and Treasury stuff for Bush I and has been in the House almost 10 years.
Nicest thing I can say about him: he did vote to certify Biden's victory and to create the Jan 6 commission. And I've never heard a scandalous rumor about him.
IMHO that description of him is beautifully-constructed shade.
Democrats should pay attention to what people running as democrats in deep red states are saying to voters. They should run candidates for every seat in every deep red district. We have an historic opportunity to sweep out the GOP if we begin to actually try. Women are pissed at the danger a bunch of white guys have put them in all over the country. Trump is a national embarrassment and walking collection of personality defects. Kick 'em while they're down and point out what a shithole America would be if people let them install a Putin style kleptocracy like they so clearly are trying to reproduce. The GOP has moved way past the consent of the governed. That leads to poor outcomes for the majority.
Very impressive. I like how he talks about the problems over there and says we have problems here, too. Bill Clinton came from Arkansas, maybe the voters can do something right again.
If I were his opponent I'd be seriously concerned. And who names their kid French? Someone who wants their son to be in lots of fights? This is Baja Missouri, after all.
“Arkansans aren’t looking for a token of gratitude; we’re looking at a fair shot at opportunity, fair wages, health care that doesn’t kill you financially. And a system that doesn’t knock you down every time you get a little bit ahead. And Congress can either build that world or blow it up.”
-That’s all I need to hear as a red-purple state liberal progressive, so even better this is our candidate in Arkansas. A politician who calls out the issues that matter and doesn’t just lean on being a strong man. I hope Arkansans like him enough to elect him!
Now imagine this guy running as veep with President Harris.
Or we could just let the guy run for Congress first. There's a lot of MAGA damage to undo at levels the Presidency can't influence. We need a lot of good Dems to help with that.
cat's meow
Doesn't seem like a bad way to sell Democratic policies everywhere.
Democrats shouldn't be "republican-lite"
i have no problem with military but not militaristic
this guy ticks a lit of boxes

Damn- I want the chance to vote for this guy.
But would it really be worth living in Arkansas? (I jest - I also would love to vote for this guy.)
I think this is the best political ad I've ever seen.
As long as he sticks to this message and doesn't use big words, he may make inroads.
Ta, Dok. Great ad. Great messaging.

i seem to recall . . . what was it now? . . . oh, yeah . . . fifty state strategy!
if any republican runs unopposed for any office, all the way down the ballot, that state's Democratic chair should be summarily fired.
Do you think that will strengthen the party? Do you think there are lots of people willing to be volunteers and chairs?

THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT, DEMS!!!!!
That is one hell of a powewrful ad. Our system needs to create more of these people.
