Super creepy, extremely sick, dangerously fanatical people. These are the kinds of people that should never be allowed to vote, marry, reproduce, or be allowed anywhere near children.

This kind of misogyny is similar to that of the Jewish and Islamic fundamentalists, and all are anti-woman patriarchal "faiths." Women must cover their bodies, stay at home unless going out is necessary, keep their mouths shut and not listen to music unless it's religious.

Arranged marriages are often between children or with the female marrying a much older man.

Think Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen.

I love how these assholes act like this keeps people "pure" when traditionally the men in these groups are adulterers and pedophiles. Just straight up bullshit from these God botherers.

But it’s not without rules! As mentioned, it’s for virgins only, and they “expect participants to pursue sexual purity before marriage and reject fornication, adultery, or any immoral relationships.”

*** *** ***

What's the test to prove that a young man is a virgin? Because unless he's certified pure, this sounds like a rip-off.

And are they actually doing "virginity tests" on women?

What exactly does "certified pure" even mean? Certified by who?

Permanently Confused@68's avatar

Why, the Purity Certification Board of course. Pft!

They're the online equivalent of Brides Magazine. The moment they've got the kids covenant-married off, no one has any use for the service and will drop it. It's not like they're going to continue to pay $25/month out of gratitude.

Like I'm not going to slip Kroger an extra fiver because they have a ten for ten dollars promotion on something I normally buy.

A special kind of marriage. Not that I'm an expert, but isn't that one of the features of Sharia?

Anyway, the Duggar family documentary "Shiny Happy People" is also full of stuff like this. Makes your skin crawl. Then, the last episode about the Joshua Generation makes you afraid for democracy...

No it actually isn't part of Sharia law. I should know, I was a Muslim for 10 years. The demand for virgins is largely cultural. In Islam, widows and divorcees can and do remarry, as do women who aren't virgins before marriage. Parts of Egypt, the rural areas, are more trict on this than in the large cities.

Absolutely correct. I want to dope slap all those white women who think that this is the way to go.

I have some superficial similarities to that little girl image there. I lived at home with my folks until I got married. However I spent all that time arguing with my mother about everything except about women's rights. My non tradwife opinions were learned at my mother's knee (might be genetic).

My mother in law was getting ready to propose to me, since her son was dawdling too long. So almost an arranged marriage, I guess.
