I have a friend that over-wintered in Antarctica a couple times. He said they would have a ceremonial viewing of The Thing (Kurt Russell version) when the summer people left for the season.

He doesn't want them to open safely, that won't cause the chaos, and death, his Tangerine Palpatine demands.

as long as you keep track of your doses you should be fine - its bullshit to try and tough out the pain - as someone with chronic pain there are times when i have to throw my hands in the air and hit the good stuff, and i do it without shame. you will get nothing but support (and tentative pats for kitteh) from me on this one

The Swedish version is primo. Almost like the original version of Insomnia, but with vampires and children. Avoid the American remakes of both.

And if you want another vampire movie in the same classy genre, I can highly recommend Only Lovers Left Alive. OK, at heart it's not a good movie at all; it's tripe. But it is the most stylish tripe you'll ever see, and it stars two of the planet's prettiest nordic beauties: Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton. And Jim Jarmusch directed it.

Is this year's insane fire season even on the radar? It's barely being covered on the East Coast.
