Arkansas Treasurer Goes To Jail For Extortion, But The Boring Kind

We for one would like to know a little bit more about Arkansas Dem lady treasurer Martha Shoffner, and why she is IN JAIL! Like, the story is all "Oh the FBI says she is extortin' the people," but maybe it is a theft of honest services kind of extortin'? Which last we heard the Supreme Court said didn't exist? Because if this is all their evidence, it does not seem like extortion so much as "total kickbacks." Which, don't get us wrong, fuck you Martha Shoffner! If you are guilty!

FBI spokeswoman Kimberly Brunell said [Martha] Shoffner was arrested Saturday at her home in Newport and is scheduled for a federal court hearing Monday. Brunell said Shoffner was arrested on charges of "extortion under color of official right." Brunell said she would have more details Monday.

Shoffner, a Democrat serving her second term in office, has faced questions over the past year about the way her office has handled state investments. Legislative auditors last year said Shoffner's office in 2011 sold 11 bonds from its investment portfolio before they had matured and purchased similar bonds from the same brokers, resulting in a net loss of more than $58,000.

So if you are looking for a SEXTORTION scandal, go ahead and call Paul Ryan's office. But if you would like to throw virtual rocks at a lady for ALLEGEDLY being a corrupt piece of shit, you can do that from here.
