"And while guns and white supremacy are certainly more tolerated in Texas" - I would substitute "de riguieur" in place of "more tolerated."

"She added that the 33-year-old mother had recently bought him “tactical gear, including magazines, a tactical vest capable of concealing ballistic plates, a tactical helmet and army clothing,” in exchange for babysitting his younger siblings. "

I babysat my younger brother, my parents bought me a see-through phone that lit up.

Perhaps the school and the authorities might have been more interested in the situation earlier, had the boy been seeking an abortion.

THIS PART RIGHT HERE.

This is beyond fucked up. Not only do I blame the parents of this kid, but I also blame our news apparatus that continues to publish the names and faces of these murderous maniacs. We need to deny them the notoriety they so crave so that other copycats don’t think this is a legitimate way to have their names on everyone’s lips. It’s grotesque.

P.S. Parents, look into the BeSmartforkids.org program. If you’re a gun owner or a parent who wants to make sure the homes their kids’ friends have stored their guns properly, it’s a great resource.

For everyone who can’t comprehend how a apparently non-white person can be a white supremacist:

Well, the Italians and Irish were once non-WASP foreigners who successfully became "white" through assimilation and agreeing to hate on Black people as much as their erstwhile WASP antagonists. Same thing here.

She had to know what the most possible outcome of her son committing a mass shooting would be. His death. It's bad enough that she's ok with him becoming a killer but she's also ok with him dying. Children aren't born racist, they're not born killers, they're not born with obsessions with guns, all those things are taught. I have no doubt mom is a racist too and she passed that onto her son. She ruined that boys life with her hate. Maybe there's hope for him but I doubt it. Maybe they need to have him visit another shooter that is in prison and have them tell him if it's worth it. I really hope they have charges against her that put her in prison for a long time and regardless of where she ends up, keep those children away from her forever.

Actually, I think encouraging activities like theatre, poetry or cheerleading sound like squishy, liberal, artsy dogma to me. The current regime doesn’t allow that. I’m convinced if the Dept of Education wasn’t being shut down entirely, they’d sooner fund classes on the “history and merit of the 14 words,” before they’d fund drama classes. At least if Stephen Miller had anything to say about it. It’s ironic, because he’d be a shoo-in for the next Bond villain if he wasn’t so preoccupied with mass destruction.

Bond villain, yes. He could also make a fortune playing Goebbels in any movies about WWII Nazis. The country—and world—would have been so much better if he'd chosen a different career path.

Jesus, 8th grade. 13 and he tried to kill himself, and idealized killing other people while doing so. State didn't care, school didn't care, mom didn't care. Tried to kill himself with a razor and it is welp, back to school with you.

I think there are a surprising number of white supremacists who aren’t white. Enrique Tarrio is Afro-Cuban and is leader of Proud Boys and pretty white supremacisty. I’m not even sure these angry, unwell people have a discernible ideology, except to hurt people in the hopes of becoming some kind of martyr. Becoming radicalized is just far too easy today with social media platforms and content consuming young minds.
