How’s the manufacturing sector doing building wind farms?

motmelere's avatar

Has anyone noticed that Lutnik (whatever) will hard sell an upgraded coffin at your child's funeral.

motmelere's avatar

A report from the front lines of manufacture and hammer swinging: We are still building shit that nobody wants for months in the future because we have some asshole randomly firing shots at what the price of steel will be tonight. Everything is just fine over here and watching the 'just in time lean manufacturing' cultists tear their hair out is a joy unto us all.

Master Plan:

Increase job openings by removing those currently doing them.

Tried to push back. Sure, let's call it that XD

HUH. Wait, I thought he was making Fossil Fuels great? Guess that did not include jobs, in those dying industries

"He doesn’t need facts, he practices faith-based economics."

So the Republican Party is, as a whole, now practicing Voo-Doo Economics?

: )

Dog-Doo Economics more like

Remember when Republicans insisted on gauging Barack Obama's jobs performance by the U6 unemployment metric rather than the U3 number used with previous presidents? Let's start doing that again.

"Lutnick claimed the tariffs are a huge victory"

That would be accurate if you think my not being able to buy a 2026 calendar with photographs of the beautiful architecture in Glasgow, Scotland "a huge victory." That's not what I'd call it but whatevs.

If you're on Mastodon, I encourage you to follow @thisismyglasgow. The guy does amazing work. The buildings are beautiful, and I've learned so much about architecture!

The raid at the LC factory was just incredible gratuitous.

Lucky for him he'll be getting "restitution" that he can use to pay his new lawyer.

I have yet to figure out how market indices can be setting record highs while the economy is clearly heading into, if not already in, a recession.

I recommend reading Paul Krugman (he's on substack). He's talked about that several times. Here's a link to one.

the same way Trump Media was valued at $3B when it had revenues of less than$1M

Michael's avatar

I never ever trust Trump's reported earnings. He's either inflating them or under reporting them depending on investor and IRA outcomes. The only thing we can count on is that the reported revenues are going to be cooked.
