Well we ARE expected to have disruptions in the food chain, so you may be on to something here.

That MAY be the dumbest thing I've ever seen another human say, and I've heard a LOT of stupid shit.

So, to recap, a blob of cells without a fully developed cerebral cortex is worth a pregnant person sacrificing their bodily autonomy for at least 9 months and then enduring one of the most physically painful natural processes known to humanity. It's what we traded for our big brains and upright posture: sometimes childbirth is deadly and it is almost always excruciating. That's if everything goes well. If it doesn't, said pregnant person could lose their livelihood because is it still legal to fire someone for being pregnant if you have fewer than 50 employees and if you're over that cap it is quite easy to come up with an excuse, existing children may have to go without food and the security of having a roof over their heads, if the pregnant person is in abusive relationship, said pregnancy almost never makes their situation better, and of course there's the physical damage: some pregnant people throw up multiple times a day every single day of their pregnancy, some get gestational diabetes, some preeclampsia. Usually there's tearing during delivery, sometimes to such a degree there's permanent damage and urinary and fecal incontinence. There can be life-threatening depression and permanent loss of sexual function. Bones can break.

In contrast, we have a pandemic on our hands that is 10 times deadlier than the flu and is especially deadly for older people and those with certain co-morbidities. Because our government is massively incompetent from the top down, we lack the testing and tracing needed to keep it in check, so our only option is to all stay at home as much as possible and wear masks in public. People lucky enough to be in Ben Shapiro's class are still able to work and get paid for it, just from home. They can go out in public, they just have to be careful and wear a mask. They're not being asked to sacrifice their bodily autonomy, nor should they expect the lasting damage to their bodies that comes from pregnancy and childbirth. Their stock portfolio is taking a massive hit, however, unless they were informed enough to see this coming, Senator Kelly Loeffler-style.

So yeah, I can totally see why Nana should die for the good of the stock market but women should be forced to carry unwanted pregnancies to term. SEEMS FAIR.

I am relieved to hear that all those who are auditioning to be among the dead are either 30 or 81 years old, and we get to choose. That means most of us are safe, and of course, as Ben points out, the choice is obvious.

Doesn't have anything like the class of Conrad Veidt as the evil vizier Jaffar in the old THIEF OF BAGHDAD, though. And by the way, just in passing, the actual viziers of actual history were often honest, conscientious administrators who worked under capricious sultans, mostly either savage warlords or debauched hashish sots, but either way, blokes who were likely to order them strangled with a bowstring any time they failed to carry out an order that was impossible to begin with.Think Donald Trump as the arbitrary mad sultan burbling, "Get those bowstrings ready!" and Dr. Fauci as the vizier.

I turned the sound off on that clip so I could imagine that those caterpillars above Shapiro's eyes were dancing to the overture of "Swan Lake."

COVID-19 has pulled back the curtain on most conservatives and we're seeing how “pro-life" they actually are.To be fair, for most of us it was already pretty obvious how little "pro-life" actually meant to these people, but now they're making it plain for everyone to see.

Like Laura Ingraham, he has a voice made for a newspaper.

Can't do the voice. I want to kick him in the throat. Maybe with votes, but probably not.

Republicans are actually trying to one up each other as to which one of the wretches is most offensive. Interesting campaign strategy.
