I wish the author would read the Cares Act and the "Devos" Guidance" document in question. In fact the Guidance Document and the Cares Act Clearly state, these funds for prohibited from going to For Profit private schools. They do state that funds have to be shared with not-for-profit private schools only. Thats not the rich "Chads" of the world. Its the local religious schools or charter schools or schools that facilitate disabilities and have already qualified as "non-profit schools" - Read it here "No. A for-profit non-public school is not eligible to receive equitable services for itsstudents and teachers under the CARES Act programs" Journalism is great when it works fairly and openly without political motives

She is right, if money was determined by poverty/ income levels, private schools would get diddley squat. Call me crazy, but I think it should be by low income alone. I know LA is usually the next poorest state in the Union, but their $8.6 million seems very high to me. I question their numbers. As poor as they are, these people have money to spend on private education ? Her plan effecting a nearly $23 billion loss to low income, just in poor ass LA alone. Again, screwing poor people.Make Serfdom Grate Again.

John Connolly also writes mysteries. He has at least one successful series, but I thought it too dark. Many people like that, though.

In my day it was 90% White Flight. Then with no standards or requirements to teach up to, it was just babysitting white kids. IMHO, it now there seems to be an anti-society, anti-science, anti-government, and promoting a narrow religious doctrine for their existence.Or to make money. Sometimes hard to tell.

You reminded me when I was a kid and went fishing on the Sacramento River.A good spot was near the sewer-drain pipe run off from a factory nearby. Lot of fish waiting to eat what came down the pike. Could catch a few until they saw us and heard us.Of course the tricky part was getting our bikes over the 10 ft chain link fence.
