Beverly Hills Would Like Successful Black American Film Producers To Please Stop Robbing All The Banks

Let's say you are a successful, film-producer MBA kind of guy. (Just go with it. We are "imagining.") You are in Beverly Hills, as your kind of people is wont to be, and you're going to go get your Emmy party on. But dammit, you forgot not to be black! Well, the Beverly Hills PD is awfully sorry they detained you for six hours for being such an African American, and also a bank robber. Just try not to let it happen again.

"The Beverly Hills Police Department deeply regrets the inconvenience to Mr. [Charles] Belk and has reached out to him to express those regrets and further explain the circumstances," police officials said.

But police added that officers "properly detained" Belk given the "totality of the circumstances."

The totality of the circumstances were Mr. Charles Belk "fitting the description" of being a black man, in Beverly Hills.

On the bright side, it was probably the cleanest, nicest police car he's ever been in in his entire life.
