My favorite insult is when a 20 year old calls me "old." I always want to say "Yeah, I'm 61, and if you don't get murdered because of your smart mouth, you will also some day be 61."
unfortunately there is a lot of gatekeeping in the LGBTQ+ community. it's often very disgusting.
what makes my blood boil is gay trans hate. we wouldn't be here without trans women (of color in case that's not clear) who played a major role in the Stonewall riots, and the formation of a gay movement.
besides, it's none of anyone's business what equipment a person works with. if you don't like it, keep moving. nobody is forcing anyone.
They make an interesting point in this video. It used to be that, if there were a non cishet character in a movie, the only place they could possibly fit was in a villain role: heroes weren't allowed to be anything but cishet, while villains could be anywhere on the spectrum, and indeed their not being cishet served to underscore how they were Violating The Natural Order. But -- that also led to people being able to admire the villain for even daring to live their own way, to hell with what society says. Maybe you can't get behind the villain's plan to poison the city's water supply, but you might find yourself respecting how they live unapologetically. There is always an appeal to good-looking rebels who play by their own rules, and that includes those who aren't cishet.
it seems as though trans men are still more stigmatized than trans women, and let's not forget that there's a different set of challenges. please somebody correct me if I'm wrong on this as I can only draw from my own limited interactions and conversations with trans people.
Ya know, while there is still quite a ways to go, remember that it was in my lifetime (and probably yours, too) that it was ILLEGAL in many places for blacks and whites to get married. Fixing that didn't end civilization as we know it, did it.
I would also like to say that personally, I don't care what you do with other consenting adults in the privacy of your own bedrooms. It only matters if I'm invited.
My husband was telling me about a good moment from his day at work earlier.
He had an individual come into the bank to change their name and gender on their bank account. The pure joy this person expressed when my husband talked them through the process and changed the pronouns on their account was the highlight of his day, apparantly they thought the bank would throw all sorts of obstructions in the way and make the process as difficult as possible whilst judging them for doing it. In reality it was incredibly easy, pronouns were changed then and there and my husband talked them through the process for changing the name on the account once they got their name change documents from Deed Poll. It made their day, and my husband's too.

just to clarify, your friend is a trans man who never transitioned?
precisely
" it's lazy and convenient,"
THERE it is!
He's a British "skeptic" so he is almost definitely anti trans

Take all the time you need, CTD.
I've known this for 17 years.
Thank dog I don't have to hear about what Meghan McCain thinks about this now.
