I am so proud of OHJB for literally travelling into the eye of the storm. Wish my Pop, who served as a marine 1st sergeant in WW2, Korea, and Viet Nam, had lived to see this continuation of courage. He passed before the advent of Dumph, but sadly not before 9/11 :(

Can you imagine what response Orange Treasonous would have to these events? Most likely a trip to Saudi Arabia, some trash talk at Iran, and definitely a few wildly inappropriate suggestions of what should happen in Palestine.

Hopefully he will continue to light his wig on fire and we'll hear from him in the pen.

I am an optimist :)

This morning my local Fox affiliate ran with the story of the House is in disarray, so why is Biden going to a warzone?!?!?!?!?!? It being Biden's responsibility to fix the House and make it functional, and not Republicans to get their shit together.

Left Coast Tom's avatar

GOP House members are famous for positive responses to Biden telling them to get their shit together.

Amen, in 7,000 languages, to that.

Fantastic post, Evan. Thank you.

I've decided I despise both Hamas and Netanyahu. I support civilians on both side and believe they should not be slaughtered by extremists on either side.

Israel launched airstrikes on a hospital and school in Gaza. Remind me again: which side is the bad guys?

Robert Eckert's avatar

Islamic Jihad hit the hospital. It was not however intentional.

GiggleSnort's avatar

Yes, that is what U.S. intelligence officials are saying now. NYT says however "much is unclear" still.

AOT, K. Also, too, OHJB should tell Bibi that he can’t stop by tmw as he has to wash his hair.

Barney Rubble's avatar

Hamas murdering civilians is evil. Israel besieging Gaza and bombing civilians is evil. The whole thing is fucked.

Mahousu's avatar

There's no shortage of bad guys here.

There are good guys, too, but they tend to have a shortage of ability to control things.

Ta, Evan. OHJB is the best president since Carter, PBUH. Actually, peace be upon them both.

I am grateful and proud that this man is my president

There probably isn't any need for a IDF ground offensive, according to my neighbor Hamas is "running through America", so they must have left in the middle of the night and took a flight to Lubbock. Just saying in case anyone is looking for them

Up Here in the Clouds's avatar

Orange Jr was ranting everyone in America needs an AR15 because Hamas was going to paraglide over your house and land on the roof, so it must be true!

I am not sure about Texas, but I know that one of their big supporters is squatting in Florida these days, posting incomprehensible screeds on his own terrorism-enabling social network.

Sorry, completely OT, but thank you for the spam reporting address the other day! I really appreciated it. Reported, got a couple more, but seems to be working.

Back in the Trump Times, Netanyahu was riding high on the knowledge that he would have free rein, and he knew that naming a settlement "Trump Heights" would make Trump drool for him like the dogs did for Pavlov.

Now, though, he was already on thin ice after even the dedicated patriots of the reserves turned on him over his strike against the judiciary, and he is on melting ice after this monstrosity, his claim to stay in power despite his deep corruption because he could keep Israelis safe having been proven grotesquely false.

He also knows that any support will fade in the face of an endless new black hole of dead soldiers and terror attacks if Israel again tries to run Gaza.

Joe knows all of this...and he will not rub Netanyahu's face in it. He will treat him as a partner and a rational actor under the circumstances.

During Obama's presidency Joe was virtually a Secretary of State, trading on his deep understanding of foriegn policy and his ability to get people to see reality while saving face.

We are genuinely lucky to have him and his skill set in place at this time.

At this rate, I won't be surprised if Biden rides in on a donkey and brings peace to the region.

It matters who is the president.

Fly paper.

And they say that BIDEN is old.

Maybe's avatar

They said that four years ago. We then elected Biden, who has been extremely successful in the job. I'll happily vote for him again; I think he's the best candidate we have.

Note that trump is almost as old and has execrable health habits. I suspect Biden will not only outlive trump, but will stay much more alert mentally. The second is a given since we're already there. trump is a fool.

I'm sorry to be a pendant y'all, but Jordan or whatever loser the Republicans eventually choose will be 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 in line to the presidency. Kamala Harris is first in line: Biden isn't "in line" because he's the actual, functioning POTUS. (Emphasis on "functioning.")

Satanic Pancake's avatar

If you're going to be a pendant, might I suggest one of those nifty amber ones, with a prehistoric mosquito caught in it?

Lady MS's avatar

Love me a good nerd fight! Can I ref?

Satanic Pancake's avatar

Sure, but I'm spent, need to spend the rest of the day cleaning and de-fogging my glasses. Humidity is at 98%, and I'm building up a good sweat just thinking of walking downstairs.
