Talking heads on Fox were smirking about this yesterday. They said that Biden put Harris in charge of immigration the day before his big Press Conference so he won't have to answer any hard questions.
I thought this was supposed to be Hunter's job to fix immigration. Along with the other jobs of fixing computers, bringing peace to the Middle East by befriending MBS, solve the opioid crisis, getting rich off of both Russian and Ukrainian nobility, and be in charge of distributing vaccines to Americans.
That Jacinda Arden gets the "Governing at the speed of now" medal in my book. One mass shooting, assault weapons banned along with high capacity magazines within days. I wonder if she's cursed with a bunch of "conservatives" crying about their lost "freedoms" or if most people have moved on. They did a buy-back program there that sounds like it was pretty successful, so maybe New Zealanders aren't as devoted to their death machines.
Doug Ducey, a transplanted Ohioan, can go fuck himself with a triple-scoop ice cream cone (vanilla, of course). California has been dealing with serious immigration issues longer than he's been alive. Where he grew to adulthood -- fucking Ohio during the seventies -- an undocumented immigrant was a Canadian with an expired driver's license. By the time he moved to Arizona, California already had already seen enough immigrantion from Mexico over the past two decades for the naturalized ones to start influencing elections.
Just because California found a way to deal with our undoc crisis long before the rest of the country -- and without a stupid wall or letting La Migra go as super-fascist in our cities as the Racist Party would like -- doesn't mean that Harris, the former top law enforcement official in the state -- is not fully up to speed in immigration issues. In fact, she knows the biggest "threat" connected to immigration isn't immigrants, it's ICE. That's something we learned back when Ducey was still selling ice cream.
It's just not right, furriners coming here to commit the violence we've committed to doing ourselves!
