Big Anti-US Protests in Iraq

Via Sploid.com , we learn that there are "thousands of Shiites stomp[ing] on American flags painted on roads" in Iraq today. Reuters dutifully plops a paragraph about Saddam's underwear photos in the middle of its report, but it doesn't really seem like they're a factor. After all, it's mostly Shiites who are protesting -- are they mad that we're treating him too well? Meanwhile, Iraqis still don't get what really ticks off most Americans these days. Sure, no one likes a flag-stomper, but if they truly want to outrage our biggest patriots, they need to throw a tribute dinner for Mark Whitaker, or Dan Rather, or at the very least, Michael Moore.— GREG BEATO
