Think John Catsimutedis would marry me? You see, I looked … and I knew! Then I read the article. As Kevin McCarthy said so mysteriously about Marjorie T Green that time: I’ll never leave that woman. Or in my case-man! It isn’t that we’re both Greek— it is this man’s soaking wet nose- a tantalizing mystery I hope to solve on our beautiful wedding night! And I’ll be the most wonderful bride: No Nagging! I’m going to assure him he doesn’t owe a thing to any man, woman, or child— let alone any poor ones!
Living in NYC I can tell you from experience who disgusting Grastides is. Expire milk, open boxes, filthy floors. There was 1 2 blocks from me and it was always deserted. Nobody who could walk an extra block would go there, in favor of Fairway. Though always crowded with long checkout lines, their food was much fresher and the store is clean and the workers friendly. I also know that east Harlem has barely any supermarkets. Looking at your map I can tell where some of the food deserts are. Like East NY, in Queens probably the poorest section of NY.
I grew up eating food from a government-run grocery store. Part of the chain of grocery stores (commissaries) run by those squishes in the Army and Navy. Non-profit. Been around for a couple of hundred years. Predates Marx and Lennon. Don't come down here to Florida. Publix will eat your lunch. (Don't lean into Publix too much, that family of founders is not MAGA so much as just weird.)
Conservatives seem to be confused about what they mean by socialism. Is socialism toiling for slave wages and bread line, or is it living off the hard work of others while doing nothing? I'm pretty sure it can't be both.
I lived in the tri-state area 30 years ago. Even at that time D’Agostino’s had a reputation for awful quality and ridiculous prices. I never went to one, but saw their ads on TV constantly.
Ta, Marcie. We live in the East Village. There are THREE Whole Foods within walking distance, but we're boycotting Bozo Bezos, so no dice. Key Food is closest, and has some decent produce. Union Market has good veggies. We're boycotting Target, which has some good food at good prices. Trader Joe's is also nearby; as is C-Town. Union Square Greenmarket is world famous for good reason. Many of the vendors are closer to the pied-à-nuage than they are to the pied-à-terre.
Catshitmediocrity LOVES to rip off his customers and his workers, and has no interest in serving poor neighborhoods; if he did his stores would take SNAP/EBT. I work in The South Bronx. ALDI on Third Avenue has good food at fair prices. I can't remember which chain is farther along East 149th Street, but it is a supermarket. However, most of the neighborhood is dominated by dollar stores and bodegas with no produce or none worth having. A city-run grocery that accepts EBT would be a boon to a place like Mott Haven, where it's easier to buy cigarettes with out-of-state stamps than it is to buy grains or greens. Mamdani was #1 on my primary ballot, and he's earned my vote in the general. Eric Adams can keep sucking cop cock and I hope he loses in a landslide. And Cuomo can eat shit and DIAF, with or without votes.

I know that the proper spelling of ZIP code is, in fact, ZIP code, but every time I see it written I SCREAM “ZIP!!!! code!!!” in my head. 😜
They all lie. All the time.

why would he care? he is a fat slob of a billionaire.
Breadlines because of Trump’s one trillion dollars cuts in Medicare and Medicaid and SNAP.
Gristedes are so dirty, just a dirty, nasty, smelly store. Or at least they were up until 20-something years ago, haven't been in one since.

it is just a buzz word to stir up the magats.
As if they know
"refreshing like a cup of warm pork juice"

Please, it's New York City! We wash down our Klav Kalash with crab soda.

D'Agostino's, I think on 3rd Ave. - a sleeve of Carr's water crackers was 8.99. It's 3.99 at home.

i quit going to whole foods when they started selling "asparagus water" - 3-4 spears of asparagus in a mason jar of water - at $5.99 each.
I should have added, yes please run away from New York and go to Florida.
What an absolute piece of 💩💩💩🤬
