Bob Dole knows you forgot all about Bob Dole, but Bob Dole remind you! Morning Wonkers! Here's some of the stories we might be talking about today! Today is the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. The Washington Post says that even if it had never happened, the U.S. and Japan would probably have gone to war anyway, and notes that
Sorry, a little OT, but when I came across your non-comment it became a little bit of a mind-worm for me. Let's see if I've got this straight. You posted at about 1 AM Thursday your time which was about 8 AM Wednesday my time (coming out of FOB Yakima, deep in the red eastern sector of gloriously blue WA state, US). So, you are ... from the future?
Yes and no. I knew these types were out there...I misundereststated how many there were of them. I've never bought the "it can't happen here" narrative, btw... I'm a firm believer that the veneer of civilization is exceedingly thin.
We will make alliances with people and groups we never would have before. We will disagree with them and they will with us. But where we can work together, we will have to. And the administration has not even begun. It will be bad. Still, we must keep in mind that depending on the issue, we will have potential allies on the other side. Maybe not so numerous at first, but they will be there.
The country will suffer. I expect world leaders are already taking the measure of DT. He will not be feared; he will not be loved; he will not be respected. He will be a joke, a punchline from London to Tokyo. His degrading ideas about "renegotiating" >TREATIES< will undermine all alliances. He is too childish and self-centered to notice, at least now. And domestically ... ugh.
Why, yes, I am. Through the magic of the International Dateline and living on the main island in Animeland, tomorrow comes way before it gets to you laggards on the other side of the world. This is also why it's so hard to be conscious while all the fun is going on at Wonkette. It's so unfair of all you US Wonketeers wanting to get some sleep just when I'm getting started. ⋘pout, whine⋙
I heard that was the new seasonal slogan over at breitfart.
My favorite is Jackson Browne's "Rebel Jesus".
Gingrich, Ghouliani, Dole, WTF? All the old lizards are crawling out of their holes.
I have. Some arguments with a few of the conclusions, but the work is really ground breaking. They know their material and write well.
Damn! That one gets me every time.
Probably not - after all, they are the ones who understand the syndrome. Ignorance is strength.

Dawww . . . they're like little four-footed ballet dancers!
We're all finding ourselves doing things we'd never thought we'd have to. Trump really is flushing this country down the drain.

It makes me miss John Huntsman. Fucking hell, I don't know the new nominee, but speaking corn is not as useful as speaking Chinese.
No dreaming required.
