The new tax structure will encourage millions of poorz to open IRA accounts (where the 1% can, er, 'manage' the funds). That's the way a free market is supposed to work, innit?

And to think Louisiana once embraced Huey Long. <i>Long is best known for his Share Our Wealth program, created in 1934 under the motto "Every Man a King." It proposed new wealth redistribution measures in the form of a net asset tax on corporations and individuals to curb the poverty and homelessness endemic nationwide during the Great Depression. To stimulate the economy, Long advocated federal spending on public works, schools and colleges, and old age pensions. He was an ardent critic of the Federal Reserve System's policies.</i>

Declare 100% of profit untouchable = residents!

Bazillionaires (those who don't mind living indoors all the time) will flock to Louisiana.

Of course, they'll have to leave out a couple hundred yards of levee, because sequester.

If the Koch assholes actually do live in Kansas, I think we know "what's the matter with Kansas." Which raises the question, "Who's the billionaire that owns Jindal's ass?"

Also difficult to factor in are those that quit buying cigarettes because they quit living.

nice try, but too many polysyllabic words, no misspellings and i don't see a single ALL CAP entry.

I wonder if Jindal has figured out that the "much higher cigarette tax" will drive some people to quit (seriously, that's often the intent) so you can't predict your state's cigarette tax income based on the current number of smokers. Not that I find a problem with that.

Poors may seem, at first glance, like a lousy source of state and local revenue. The secret to the success of this plan, however, hinges on the fact that there will be a tremendous increase in the number of poors. The 1% can lounge about their <strike>pools</strike> cement ponds, secure in the knowledge that every one of them has 99 ignorant peasants slaving away to support them in the style to which they have become accustomed.

I'm surprised Virginia doesn't include free cigarettes with school meals.

<i>"Because KS passed massive tax decreases WITHOUT first figuring out a way to make up for the lost revenue!"</i>

Hey, it worked for Bush . . . Oh, wait, no it didn't. I guess Kansas likes to learn from its <i>own</i> mistakes.

Why bother, Louisiana will be under water in few years anyhow unless Jindal spends some money on beefing up the levees and we know that is not going to happen because SOCIALISM!!!!111 1
