Former rural NYState cop (very rural). There are some fascists against whom I've had to admit to myself I would gleefully commit a violent felony to prevent the future commission of human rights violations by said fascists.

Like Trump, Homan spends a lot of time talking about the rape-murders of young (and almost always white) women. These guys must spend a LOT of time thinking about young women getting raped and then murdered. In fact, it seems to drive both of them to a sort of orgiastic frenzy of the sort where unspeakable lust twists to inevitably projected hatred.

In other words, sick. But the real problem is not their sickness but the positions of power that allow them to impose their pathologies on the rest of us--and our own pathology that put them there.

“ illegal crime”

This … just feels to me like “Tom Homan is stupid”

Either that or it’s some Russian propaganda-speak for “legal crime right now is what the Trump Regime commits”

I live in a heavily Republican county. It's also a massive producer of vegetables.

The former sheriff here was very simpatico with the immigrant workers* and he (as well as every law enforcement agency head I've ever spoken with) agree that migrants should be able to report a crime against them without having to worry about being reported to the agency that shall not be named but contains the letters "I" and "C" along with "E" and that LEOs shouldn't have to report on people jailed.

The former sheriff also supported allowing undocumented individuals to get driver's licenses, because they're going to be driving anyway. One farmer he knew had a dude working for him for 30 years who couldn't drive. Dude practically ran the farm for the old man he'd been there so long.

That's basically what being a "sanctuary" thingy is: you don't narc on folks who aren't causing trouble, and in the case of crime are much more often the victim than the instigator. Our criminal element knows that those guys get paid in cash on Friday, and are often the victims of home invasions at their homes. Some of those incidents have led to shooting injuries and deaths.

* At least he was simpatico with the farmers, many of whom are fond of their employees and depend on them.

First they mean to turn the USA into a white nationalist "Fortress America," and then they will purge all the "white" people who don't support them. Fascism isn't just authoritarian, it's totalitarian. The difference is that in the latter form, it matters very much to the rulers that you agree with everything they do and say. A modern country like the United States now has the technological means to impose a genuinely totalitarian regime on the people, and those who are presently running the government seem determined to impose such a regime.

They are still warming up for the first phase. If they succeed in that, ideology-based purges are inevitable.

It's good to see the push still on to get Kilmar Ábrego García out of that hellspace CECOT. Even if Trump and Bukele refuse to return him it shows how they have partnered to knowingly obstructed justice. I hope there is a consistent demand fulfilled for proof of life of Kilmar Ábrego García.

Trumpies seem to forget white American males commit far more crimes than illegals, and Trump killed a million people botching covid, so whatever.

Oh, they don't forget. Donald put a credibly accused repeat sexual harasser in the nominal position of (DUI) Secretary of Defense AND he is one himself -- as any former teenage Miss Universe contestant knew first-hand when he was the pageant owner opening doors to the dressing rooms -- and brought Andrew Tate back to the U.S. when Romania had him locked up.

It's literally that they want to use Orwell-speak in attempts to destroy peoples' ability to think clearly -- to wit:

'illegal crime”

"Homan lamented, “But rather than taking care of the constituents in his state, the victims of illegal crime in his state, he’s going to run to El Salvador to protect an MS-13 terrorist. It’s just disgusting.”

He is taking care of his constituents, the Garcia family, who are the victims of an ongoing illegal crime that happened in his state.

A couple of weeks ago his Gestapo seized a well-liked migrant in the small community where he lives. The community reacted angrily and he had the person released, IIRC. Because he didn't like his neighbors being mad at him.
