I saw the video of the 6-7 officers, guns drawn and pointed, surrounding the car. It backs up and takes off and THEN they remember they have guns and start firing. Didn't anyone think of shooting the engine block or were they armed with those 'wunder 9s' that wouldn't penetrate?
I'm going to go way out on a limb here, and speculate (irresponsibly) that this crazy bitch was not an Obama voter in the previous election cycle. Oh, and that she's a sore loser.

CBS News showed a picture, claimed to be of the kid from the car. Kid looked to be 2 or 3, and blah.
If that was the same video that I saw, the fusillade did not stop the car. The driver appears to have been shot off camera.
