depends on CA law. in TX they can say stuff, but usually limit it to the statement at the formal sentencing hearing.

He went to a small upscale community in Greene county. The Sheriff has sent out flyers to residents and Turner has to report every ninety days to their office.

THAT's the real punishment, being labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life. Serving 3 weeks, 3 months, or 3 years in jail is nothing compared to that.

Should have recognized that, living as I have for most of my life in a small town in Knox County.

He would be offended having to go "slumming" in Dayton.
