Can Somebody Go Check On Weird Dilbert Guy Scott Adams?

Weird Dilbert Guy and Wonkette darling Scott Adams has had a rough couple of weeks. Last week, he claimed he was SHADOWBANNED by Twitter, and also that people were being paid by some mysterious and unknown entity to say mean stuff to him on Twitter, because he is so awesome and beloved that no one would do that for free.

Frankly, Scott Adams has had it UP TO HERE with these Clinton bullies!

I’ve been trying to figure out what common trait binds Clinton supporters together. As far as I can tell, the most unifying characteristic is a willingness to bully in all its forms.

If you have a Trump sign in your lawn, they will steal it.

If you have a Trump bumper sticker, they will deface your car.

OH! You mean like in this video, which turned out to be a fake? Now, I'm not saying these things haven't happened -- but Trump supporters have certainly done some pretty deplorable things themselves. You know, like beating up homeless people they think are immigrants, assaulting senior citizenswith oxygen tanks, yelling "Trump is going to win and if you don't like it I'm going to beat your ass," and various racial slurs at random black cashiers in the grocery store, going around andassaulting Muslim women in hijabs, etc. etc. But, understandably, to Scott Adams, these things simply pale in comparison to having a lawn sign stolen. Because, really -- what is next? Ding dong ditch? Clearly, it's just gone too far.

if you speak of Trump at work you could get fired.

Actually -- sure! This could be a possibility. Because, in most states, if you are not in a union, you can get fired for literally anything. This is called "at will" employment. If you have a problem with that, take it up with Republicans. You could also be fired for talking about Clinton, or talking about shoes or talking about last night's episode of the Real Housewives. Or for literally anything else.

Also, maybe you should be doing your job instead of talking to people about Donald Trump?

On social media, almost every message I get from a Clinton supporter is a bullying type of message. They insult. They try to shame. They label. And obviously they threaten my livelihood.

TWO CAN PLAY THIS GAME. Pretty much every message I've ever gotten from a conservative or a Men's Rights Activist is a "bullying" type of message. Why? Because of what I write about! I once had someone demand I be fired from a job because I did not accept the wisdom of Murray Rothbard as gospel -- which was honestly pretty weird. That is what happens when you write stuff on the internets! Surprise!

Also, let us note that although I'm sure Scott Adams has had a really rough time of it on Twitter, that Clinton supporters have not sent him a picture of his daughter being shoved into a gas chamber by Donald Trump in a Nazi uniform. That was a thing Trump supporters did! To another conservative who just happened to not much care for Donald Trump!

We know from Project Veritas that Clinton supporters tried to incite violence at Trump rallies. The media downplays it.

Any sentence that begins with "We know from Project Veritas" is not a sentence containing any valuable information.

We also know Clinton’s side hired paid trolls to bully online. You don’t hear much about that.

Quite frankly -- I would love to hear more about that. Mostly because I am freelance now! I am always happy to get paid to be mean to Donald Trump and/or Scott Adams.

The implication here requires a lot of cognitive dissonance -- because you have to both believe that Hillary Clinton's supporters are evil bullies who are super mean to Trump supporters for no good reason... but also that they are only doing this because they are being paid to do so.

Yesterday, by no coincidence, Huffington Post, Salon, and Daily Kos all published similar-sounding hit pieces on me, presumably to lower my influence. (That reason, plus jealousy, are the only reasons writers write about other writers.)

[wonkbar][/wonkbar]HEY. We take offense to that. Wonkette ALSO published a hit piece on Scott Adams, and we would like our liberal perfidy to be recognized! What are we, chopped liver?

Also, that's not even sort of how your liberal media sausage is made. If you want the boring truth, most of us just scan Feedly, Twitter, etc. until we find something interesting to write about, and then write about it. Ta-Da! Scott Adams saying he would kill Donald Trump Hitler is an interesting thing to write about! All this means is that probably one site wrote about it, and then someone else saw their thing on it, and figured it would be a good thing to write about also. No conspiracy required! It's not like we have some giant UniSlackChat that we all check into and go "HEY! Let's make sure we all cover Scott Adams saying a dumb thing today!" or anything.

Also "they're just jealous" is pretty much just a thing terrible people tell themselves in order to disregard the notion that maybe they are jerks.

Team Clinton has succeeded in perpetuating one of the greatest evils I have seen in my lifetime. Her side has branded Trump supporters (40%+ of voters) as Nazis, sexists, homophobes, racists, and a few other fighting words. Their argument is built on confirmation bias and persuasion. But facts don’t matter because facts never matter in politics. What matters is that Clinton’s framing of Trump provides moral cover for any bullying behavior online or in person. No one can be a bad person for opposing Hitler, right?

Not really! That argument is based on the fact that there are actual Nazis supporting Trump, that there are virulent homophobes supporting Trump, that his anti-immigration rhetoric comes straight out of White Nationalist movement, that his anti-Semitic supporters have repeatedly threatened Jewish journalists, that he says things that "rile up" people who want to be able to feel like they are better than Muslims or Mexicans, that he says things like "grab them by the pussy" and his supporters think that's OK! OH, not only do they think that's OK, they think it's a pretty valid flirting technique:

This tactic -- insinuating that Clinton supporters and those who support her are only making up the fact that Trump and his supporters are "Nazis, sexists, homophobes, racists" etc. for some unknown purpose, and not because they really think they are those things? That is called gaslighting. No one is making this up, Weird Dilbert Guy, it's not a figment of anyone's imagination, it's true, whether you'd like to believe it or not.

Adams then warns Trump supporters not to wear their MAGA hats on Election Day, because liberals will try to beat them up to prevent them from voting, and then they'll have to shoot those liberals, and the streets will be wet with blood.

Some Trump supporters online have suggested that people who intend to vote for Trump should wear their Trump hats on election day. That is a dangerous idea, and I strongly discourage it. There would be riots in the streets because we already know the bullies would attack. But on election day, inviting those attacks is an extra-dangerous idea. Violence is bad on any day, but on election day, Republicans are far more likely to unholster in an effort to protect their voting rights. Things will get wet fast.

OK, but what if they aren't being PAID to attack? If the only reason that people are opposing Donald Trump and pretending he's a racist is because they are being paid to do so, why would they risk going to jail? It costs money to get sent to jail, so it doesn't seem like a very good business decision.

Adams then goes on to say that Clinton is intentionally turning Americans against each other, whereas Donald Trump "is about uniting all Americans under one flag." And I am sure that from his perspective, that is true! Because he's imagining a beautiful America in which everyone rallies behind the interests of heterosexual white dudes like himself, and finally shuts up about their own problems. That, to him, is unity.

[wonkbar][/wonkbar]Adams admits he doesn't know or give a damn about any policies or anything silly like that. He just knows what he likes, and what he likes is DONALD TRUMP. Yes, after months of saying he endorses Hillary Clinton for reasons of his own "personal safety" and then later endorsing Gary Johnson because, uh, reasons or whatever, he's finally made it official!

I endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States because I oppose bullying in all its forms.

Yes. And he claims that there is a 98% chance that Donald Trump will win the election, because sure , why not. It's at least about as likely as everyone pretending Donald Trump is racist and sexist for literally no reason whatsoever, and also all of the liberal media conspiring against Scott Adams because they are jealous. It is at least as likely as that.
