Maybe someone (Land Shark?) can explain this to me.

The big crypto companies like coinbase run the wallets for coins. OK, I get that.

How do they make money? I worked with a dude who used to work for coinbase.

Now I'd get $100K bonuses which'd vest over four years by a quarter a year. Get four of those and you're doing ok.

He'd get $150K bonuses which'd vest in three months. Where is that money coming from? I don't understand that bit of the crypto market.

I did my own research.

It's mostly transaction fees, but it goes way beyond that. Transaction fees account for a lot of their income.

What they've done is set up a system where you can get your salary paid into crypto and a debit card. So they've partnered with the global systems on that.

"Mah debit card is backed by etherium, I'll have you know!"

Worse. And this unregulated. They'll let you place options or whatever on coin prices. You can't do level 4 options on real trades unless you're qualified - which I'm not. I can do level 1 I think. But they'll let any old fourteen year old trade at level 4 and punt away.

The *money* that flows through this shitpile of scammery is frightening. And it's unregulated. Which libertarians love. House of fucking cards.

But yes, in the general, the whole team. In the primary though, we can choose for ourselves. I need to transplant my flower baskets, but it’s supposed to be 37 tomorrow night, which might be pushing it. I gave away some avocado trees that were bumping my ceiling in the sunroom, and now I have to put up some hooks to hang the vines that were hiding behind them.

Then I have to pull everything away from the south wall in the studio, where earth-sheltered exterior wall transitions from concrete block to wood. I’ve had some ants make their way in from there, which has never happened before and I’m at a loss. I have to deal with what’s going on outside, but I can’t until the snow melts from there. Obviously some damp wood.

And I’ve got two heavy bookcases and a window seat to pull away from that wall, and a desk and a stack of art supplies that has to be removed before I can get at the bookcases. Then I have to figure out how to persuade the ants to keep from coming in, without hurting the cats. Or me. Or even, ideally, the ants, but I am at a loss here. This is my first home invasion, and they may have an ancestral claim that would hold up in court.
