It really isn't that difficult to use common parlance of "the 95 percentile confidence range of 2658 to 3290 deaths" being the statistically most likely estimate.Saying "the study estimates roughly 3,000 more deaths occurred, give or take 300, than would have happened without the hurricane" is a reasonable estimate (and dumps the argument of "hurricane-caused" has to be from drowning or something ) and is understandable. We are talking about people capable of working out odds on racetrack betting, and able to work through statistics to select their favorite Fantasy Football players.
