Liz: could Garland have read the Hur Report and just released a one page summary of his conclusion, like Bill Barr did with the Mueller Report? Why aren’t Democrats better at fighting the political game?

As expected, Trump fan's leaving his event in Harrisburg Pa last night said the felony charges only increased their support and they would vote for him even if he is in prison comparing him to Nelson Mandela and King David. What universe do these people come from?

So, years ago I saw an episode of "Judge Judy" in which a woman was defrauding eBay shoppers by advertising cell phones and then sending them a picture of a cellphone, claiming, disingenuously that the description "what you see is what you'll get" should protect her. I was scracthing my head at the thought that this woman would agree to come on this T.V. courtroom show to allow the world to see what a scumbag she was. Was she really thinking that Judge Judy would be like: "Wow, nice play! You showed a picture of a phone and sent them a picture of a phone! Judgment in defendant's favor!" Of course, Judy was having none of it, and dressed this woman down ("you knew exactly what you were doing, here") made it clear that she was a conniving piece of human garbage and ruled for the plaintiff.

Alina Haba's attempt to have this case dismissed because Carroll deleted death threats from her phone and claiming that that constituted destruction of evidence reminds me of the scumbag eBay lady. Did she really think any sane judge would rule in her favor? Why put some shit like that out there that just makes it plain to the world that you're a shitty person and a shitty lawyer?

Yeah, the 83 million is a new judgment from a different trial.

Lemme see: $370 million with 9% per year accumulation since 2018 works out like this:

(1.09)^6 x $370,000,000 = 1.677 x $370,000,000 = $620,490,000. Add in $83.3 million and that pushes it a smidge over $700,000,000, roughly the amount that Dominion Voting Systems collected off old man Murdoch. That's a major part of a billion dollars. I think Donnie Dipshit will still be a billionaire after that, but in a negative sense.

I don't think judgment interest is compounded. My arithmetic says 6*9% = 54%, so Trump owes her about $40 million over the $83 million of the judgment.

I hope she gets her money first. That one has to hurt much more than the state judgement. I have a vision of Steve Martin in The Jerk, writing checks in his bathrobe with his pants around his ankles.

Trump cannot use donations, PAC money, or GOP election funds to pay this and upcoming fines. Personal assets only. And only at their legally assessed values. Starting with liquidity (that's cash in the bank to us peasants). It's almost a given he cannot cover this with a check. He is going to drop right off the Forbes list this year.

By “cannot” you mean “he’s not supposed to” which means “of course he will and everyone will be dumbfounded that he did and won’t know what to do in response”

Maybe instead of jailing or fining Habba for contempt of court, the judge can order her to go retake law school and pass the Bar again, before she appears on another case. I know that would never happen, but as you said, a girl can dream.

Trump is entering the consequential phase of his misdeeds. That must be a novel experience for him. He has skated by all his life, until now. Judges don't much care about his idiotic temper tantrums, and his delay tactics do nothing more than that -- delay, for a little while. The outcomes won't change unless he actually gets elected and makes some (not all) of the cases go away.
