I read something interesting in the WaPo yesterday...If I read the chart right, "swing-state support for Trump in October was higher among those with less trust in the media."

Obvious, right? But among the swing staters who DIDN'T support Trump, MSNBC was their most trusted source of news. I always thought I was in the minority regarding this.

Feel free to correct my chart interpretation.

I saw some cuts from Trump's babble. While he's out there embarrassing himself, his underlings, led by Steve, are busy following the Project 2025 playbook and adding chapters as necessary. This just might be the cause of TACO...his handlers say "Oh fuck, he laid down some tariffs again, we'll have to talk him out of it again, he'll agree, then forget he agreed and impose some AGAIN."

May I also add in - if you haven't heard it - Taylor Swift's speech at NYU. She chooses to be LESS political but absolutely uplifting. (Must confess this is one of my alma maters). And I have to note that the school Barron Trump is currently attending. So maybe a titch bit POINTED.

"He should have been arrested because there was an overt lie."

Saith McEnany.

Judas Iscariot on roller skates.

If people should be arrested for telling overt lies, Donald Trump should never see daylight again.

Every time I read about right wing asshole outrage, I always flash on the South Park episode of a group of Prius owners at a party in a San Francisco apartment. Everyone's standing around with a crystal goblet, and every so often, they fart into it, then inhale the farts.

Great speech!

This is totally besides the point but did he say he met George Orwell or did I read that wrong?

"There is nothing new in this. George Orwell — who we met on the street in London — "

Scott Cameron Pelley: Born 1957, July 28 (age 67)

Eric Arthur Blair, AKA George Orwell: Died 1950, January 21 (age 46)

I think he means we (collectively) first encountered Orwell "Down and Out in Paris and London"

Must be the royal we. I'm sure someone met George Orwell on the street in London.

way to amplify the message you don't like in a totally not ironic, moronic way right wingers - no notes

Ta, Evan. I couldn't even read the transcript of That Thing's "speech." I did read Scott P's; it was excellent and I'm glad it's gone viral.

After calling for Pelley’s arrest, McEnany decried canceling culture.

"He babbled about how he’s getting drag queens and transgender people out of the military, to zero applause"

I missed the 'zero applause' from earlier Tellings...Baby like...

Its SO hard to get a read on where the military stands on all this since by design they are not allowed to speak on these matters...

I don’t think they are allowed to “applaud” ….?

I wondered about that too, then drew the same conclusion.

Unfortunately that scans. I wondered about that after I posted my comment

His speech made me cry. Let's hope he lit a fire under every graduate who bothered to listen to it. As Pelley says, we need you.

chev_chelios's avatar

I agree, incredible speech ....from what I saw, seemed like a few did bother to really listen though it looked liked many others couldn't be bothered...that was very sad and was very disappointed in the reaction of some of the graduates ...or lack of reaction.

"Kayleigh McEnany, perhaps the most interchangeable of all the Fox News windsocks, wants Pelley arrested for it."

Too stupid to even know they are proving his point...

Years ago I read an article about The Muppet Show that said many "stars" were afraid to be guests because they feared being upstaged by the Muppets. Riley Gaines managed to be upstaged by Kermit and never got anywhere near him. What a fail!

And as for hacky bitch Michael Goodwin... who is he again?

"Kayleigh McEnany, perhaps the most interchangeable of all the Fox News windsocks, wants Pelley arrested for it." No, nothing fascist about that at all. /s

I applauded! It was a great speech! We need more people brave enough to speak the truth!
