Entitlement in a slightly new form. It's like saying that what Hannibal Lecter did was regrettable, but he is a brilliant psychiatrist. He should be forgiven for eating a few faces. I mean, it wasn't even all that many.

Spacey may be a good actor as a profession, but he's definitely a bad actor where young men are concerned. And he is not missed. There are plenty of other actors available; Spacey is replaceable.

We've got a racist, rapist psychopath running for president, so sure let's fill movies with the same! Teach our kids that they should look up to these guys. Cause we always have. Spacey, Cosby, Weinstein, Gibson and every other piece of trash that thinks they are entitled to do what they please because they're famous can kiss my old smelly be-diapered ass. I will cheer the asteroid when it gets here!!!

Super disappointing to see Sharon Stone speaking out of both sides of her mouth on this issue. I guess we're all supposed to believe her, but not other accusers. I won't be watching shit with her in it anymore, either.

The fuck with these people demanding the public accept their precious bestie friend ever in the world back again?

And I LIKE some of these folk! Quite a bit! (Not Bill M tho, fuck that guy) And I too believe in forgiveness! Just really fucked up for them to say "everyone should just get over it and let him (it is always a him) back on your TV screen"

I may be wrong, but it sure seems F. Murray Abraham is saying “who among us hasn’t sexually harassed or assaulted someone?” Well, most people, hopefully. But it’s not really a surprise someone with their own problem with similar behavior would defend a kindred predatory spirit.

It's not what the righties think, but there really is a problem with a cadre of Hollywood high muckily mucks taking a stand for sexual predators that are "one of them." We should forgive geniuses like Woody Allen, Roman Polansky, and now Kevin Spacey. So they groped a few little, insignificant people. Who cares? The "art" needs their great brilliance. And they admitted it. Sort of. To me. At a tony party somewhere. I'm sure I remember. Forgive them, peasants.

It is interesting how cult-type behavior occurs in groups that are not technically cults. We are seeing it here in actor celebrities; they protect each other against "outsiders." I once filed a lawsuit against a company because our local manager discriminated; about half of our 30 employees came from his religious group (which actually was a cult). Management was told many times by many people what was going on, but protected the manager.

Ta, Robyn. I never much liked Spacey's acting; always found his performances overwrought and mannered. He did show up in a dream I had many years ago, which was weird considering I've never liked him.

As far as I know, Spacey has never been legally prevented from acting in Hollywood. What do these idiots want? Do they think that studios should be forced to hire him? That audiences should be forced to watch him? I agree that Spacey is an incredibly talented actor, but there are plenty of other incredibly talented actors who have never groped or sexually assaulted anyone. And don't for a second think the extreme MAGA types won't try to characterize this as an example of so-called 'liberal' hypocrisy.

I lived in Baltimore and had an interaction with someone who worked on House of Cards. He told me about going to Spacey’s hotel suite for drinks where spacey drugged either him or his wife (this was around 2017, so I can’t remember the details). The main takeaway is that this guy said Spacey was known to target young and vulnerable people on the crew, many of whom were obviously vulnerable and without support systems or power ( low level jobs, not union. Etc). Spacey was caught off guard by this guy showing up with his wife and basically they got themselves home with one having been drugged, and thanked god that’s all that happened. There was no way they would report this because it was a great job in Baltimore when HOC filmed there and no one who wanted to stay in the industry (veep was there around the same time) would ever come forward. Spacey wasn’t clumsy. He was a calculating predator.

We’ve been here before. With Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis writing a stupid letter asking for leniency for Danny Masterson and the various celebs who have defended Roman Polanski over the decades.

Hollyweird is a club and everyone wants to cover for their friends. That doesn’t mean we the public have to support these creeps. I don’t watch movies with Mel Gibson because he’s an insane antisemite. Likewise, I won’t watch anything with Tom Cruise in it because Where’s Shelley!!!!

And I won’t watch anything with Kevin Spacey in it any more either. And none of his buddies are going to convince me otherwise.

i take it F. Murray Abraham never goes to Star Trek conventions? a bit too famous i suppose and only that one role in the worst TNG movie. but if he does Rapp should call him out publicly.

Who are these people pleading Spacey's "case" appealing to? Movie watchers? Because I can choose which movies I watch and which ones I don't. And that can be based upon a whole lot of different reasons, including what I deem consistent inappropriate behavior, or bad plastic surgery, or religious/political affiliation, or whatever reason I feel like at the moment! He didn't lose his government job, or his home, or his passport, so Neeson and Stone and whoever hell else fawning over his "talent" can suck my dick (if I had one). I'm not going to watch him again. And, for what it's worth, he should have never been cast as Coyle in "The Shipping News" it should have been John C. Reilly. Did the director even read the god damned book?

Don't want to get cancelled over sexual misconduct? It's very simple: don't "accidentally" or "clumsily" grope someone's crotch in the workplace. That this has to be explained to "a man of character" is incredible. Kevin Spacey is an arrogant fuck, who thought he could get away with it. Surprise, Kevin.

I'm sure most folks here are like me in this respect -- I read about behavior like this, look back on my own long life, and can't conceive of EVER behaving so horribly toward other people. Nobody's perfect, not even me, but perfection is not the standard. Basic decency is the standard.
