This is a nightmare of a fractured fairy tale. In my world people who commit crimes and blame the victim, or repeated tell people that what they saw with their own eyes is a lie are the dangerous ones.

Need to spread the word on Treason Trump Media: It's a little too obvious that the whole thing is staged. It looks a lot like MAGA world is faking threats to their daddy to build sympathy. Daddy don't have any real policy, the only thing they have for it is Project 2025 and now he's trying to hide it. Daddy once said that he could shoot anyone in the middle of 5th Ave and not lose a single supporter. How come no one told him that he could be shot in the middle of a PA rally and still not gain a single sympathizer...Plus Biden is now immune as SCOTUS says... lol.

“ It's almost inexplicable to us sometimes ... there is no figure in American history at least in the modern era — maybe since Lincoln — who's been so vilified and really persecuted by media and Hollywood elites, political figures, even the legal system.”

Anyone else wondering if Speaker Johnson has trouble breathing with his nose shoved so far up Trump’s ass?

Strange fact of the day: both Trump and Hitler had injured ears in botched assassination attempts. Both also occurred in July.

Fun fact. That's when Hitler started using coke with a tincture of cocaine prescribed by an audiologist. Before that, he considered it a Jewish drug.

I don’t like diving into conspiracy theories, but I find it weird that even in photos showing his ear straight-on, you can see the blood, but if there’s an actual wound, I can’t find it. I’m really hoping I’m just that bad at seeing things.

As for Ladybugs’s comments: Oh shut the hell up. “Im so grateful you didn’t get hurt any worse!” Motherfucker—someone DIED and two people seriously wounded. Not one of you Republican assholes has said a damn thing about them.

To address Matt Walsh’s question regarding the Secret Service agent “ducking her head”:

She wasn’t ducking her head, asshole. She was trying to get Orange Foolius to move by more or less tackling him. That’s what protection details are trained to do. And instead of reacting like a human being, Trump stood up, pumped his fist, and exposed himself.

"Shooter is down" was heard repeatedly over their comms before trump stood.

To the best of my knowledge, that call wouldn’t mean much. They had no way of knowing in the moment if there was another shooter or other threat, so SOP is to get the protectee to a safe area immediately.

Today's Republicans don't understand what the word "civil" means unless it is followed by the word "war."

I don't think they know what "war" means, either, because they seem eager to incite one against their fellow citizens, which is absolutely insane.

I would rather not speculate on the motives of the now-dead would-be assassin of Donald Trump. I think his main goal was to commit suicide by cop. Well done, young man.

But on the way to committing suicide, he committed murder. He took the life of one Corey Comperatore, a fire fighter who leaves behind a grieving family. Personally, I care a lot more about this man than I care about the assassin's intended target, who suffered only a minor wound. Considering that the shooter's real victim was not a political target, I think it is a little off-base to call the shooter's action a political action. It was a deadly action that ended the lives of two people. All the rest of the details are comparatively trivial.

So I would like to stay non-political as I talk about this event. And I think the BEST way to stay non-political is to point out that this kind of killing happens more often in the United States of America than in any other country of comparable wealth per capita. It's just a fact, people.

https://www.healthdata.org/news-events/insights-blog/acting-data/gun-violence-united-states-outlier

But even this fact is not totally apolitical. We have two political parties in the United States. One of them, the Democratic Party, would like to make firearm mortality lower by preventive means, specifically, by making it harder for disturbed people to buy weapons of mass slaughter. The other political party, the Republican Party, evidently thinks it would be a shame if fewer people were shot dead in America every year, because this would leave the rest of us with fewer opportunities to take bloody revenge by shooting back.

As I said, I don't think they understand what civil war is, or if they do, they fail to see why having another one would be a bad thing.

These folks have drunk the Kool-aid. They believe that all the guns will be pointed in one direction, and it won't be toward them, because the left is anti-gun, and they refuse to have anything to do with them.

They think the whole thing will be like them strutting around Walmart with the AR slung over their shoulder and everyone around them cowering and scurrying away.

"Considering that the shooter's real victim was not a political target, I think it is a little off-base to call the shooter's action a political action." Well considering that his intended target was Trump I'd say it was very much a political action.

I don't want to jump down the rabbit hole here, but your claim that Trump was the shooter's intended target is not unquestionable. The shooter missed Trump and hit an innocent bystander. Did he really intend to hit Trump, or did he intend to miss him? Also, the shooter is dead. This part of the shooter's plan, if he had one, went without a hitch. And the convenient thing, for the people who may have RECRUITED this shooter to do what he did, is that he is now dead and we will never know what his true intentions were or whether somebody recruited him to do what he did.

I think the least controversial thing to claim is that this young man had emotional problems and that he managed to get himself killed by police in the surest possible way: He attacked a very well-defended target.

I see two possible explanations of what happened:

1. The guy heard right wing anger at Trump for softening the tone of the 2025 Heritage document, including backing off from making IVF and birth control and gay marriage illegal. The so called right-flank would prefer more promises of bloodshed and fascism (and antisemitism). This sad incel from PA may have been trying to advance that agenda.

2. Trump seemed to jump up and raise his fist for the photographers. The whole thing could have been a planned stunt, with the perp killed so he couldn’t talk. In this case I wonder if that was real blood on Trump’s face, or a Hollywood fake blood capsule. I’d like to test his shirt for real blood. But the Secret Service probably washed it for him already. (Remember how they erased all their phones after January 6?)
