I was an FDR Democrat. Then the Dems ditched the New Deal and the Great Society and went "Third Way" neoliberal. It's all greed heads calling the shots now. A new Guilded Age.
You're letting Microsoft decide what you see on the vast open Internet? Why? And what's Lenovo got to do with it? I've got a four year old thinkpad and it just works. I do the updates when it says to. Never have to mess with it.
I stopped with all cable news in the months after Sept 11. The absolute volume of exaggerated over the top and frankly made up bullshit that never got corrections or retractions made me understand what absolute garbage cable news was. There isn't that much actual news in 24 hours that really matters to anyone. They have to generate outrage to convince people to stay tuned. If there's not anything newsworthy they manufacture interest in the mundane. They invent monsters.
I turned you NPR for most of my news and that was good until they toward the end of the Bush years and again in the Trump era when they stopped asking hard questions and just let people lie to them without a challenge. Most of the real talent moved on or retired.
"less overtly leftwing style of reporting" meaning "don't fact-check rightwing lies because that would look partisan". The problem is that facts skew "Left". Not because facts are inherently politically biased, but because the R party has embraced nonsense and conspiracy theories.
The Guardian's International edition is the best reporting out there. You should check them out. Also The Intercept, while actually Left, does some good investigative work.
NARA tried to get the documents when it was clear that they existed and were not part of the former administration's clearing out of the White House. NARA then referred to matter to DOJ. DOJ subpoenaed for the records. DOJ then sent the DAG for The Counterintelligence and Export Control Section to Mar A Lago to ask for the records. DOJ then filed the affidavit for the search. The FBI didn't initiate anything and it's important to state their role correctly.
I've never had cable, or any pay-for TV. Since broadcast went digital it's the golden age of antenna tv. Lots of channels. It's still crap, but it's completely free crap. Broadcast news is reasonably straight up, once you make allowances for the 100% pro-corporate viewpoint.

Pacifica Radio. Democracy Now!. Except even they've been carefully ignoring the Dem Party's shenanigans in North Carolina this summer.

DJT continued the US participation in the Yemen atrocities. Sold 'em the bombs and refueled the bombers.
True, and should be on the list of his crimes.
I have to ask ..
So here is the question for all the men and women born between 1970 and 1980.
What was the weirdest video you ever saw (remember MTV used to play videos)
I went with Devo Jacob Homo. But, anything from Tom Waits or Primus is in the running.
"Ashes To Ashes" by David Bowie was another strange one.
CNN and Faux Noiz Network make me glad I don't have cable.
I started boycotting CNN when they first appeared, so I guess that makes me a trend-setter?
That may be the problem.

Thanks.
