It feels like an extra weight to carry. Even in liberal places like Manhattan, I've had a man become disgusted with me because I'm "a woman wearing men's clothes". That was fairly recently. That's one of the reasons I like cold weather, a coat and hat makes it hard to judge the person wearing it.
