This! I often say that the fact that truth has a liberal bias works against us. We think that having a reality that is basically The Reality gives us an edge. It does not. The other side has to work hard to create and maintain a shared reality, and that brings them together and gets them all on the same page. We need to do that too.
During covid, I saw a public service announcement from Mexico called "Susana Distancia". (It's a pun.) I started to cry. TFG threw away Obama's pandemic plan, and when Biden took over he seemed to want to just put it behind him. When I saw the PSA I thought, this is how it should be. We should all be talking about how silly it is and making rude jokes, while building a shared reality in which social distancing works. Just because we all know something is real doesn't mean it will automatically become part of our shared reality. We all need to know we all know, you know?
